As a former Airport Security screener I can't believe the police were not called when this was discovered and a call made to CSIS about the incident.

wow so much I disagree with here.
The TSA can be avoided if people just speak up.

It is security theatre, but say something does happen, it is in place because the government would have to come out and say they are trying as many things as they legally can to stop things like this from happening.
But terrorists should never be able to access the cockpit anymore so a plane terrorist attack doesn't make too much sense anymore. All they would do is blow the plane up and there is a good chance that if a plane blew up it would be over a farmers field of field of water instead of a major city centre causing tons of damage.
Remember you can still just walk on a train without being searched at all. Someone can blow one of those up, but don't really bother...

The CK bit could apply to any technology: trains, cars, etc.. It is about being grateful for what you have, but it is a joke. If there are still ways of making things better complaining is the first step. It gets people brainstorming ways to make it better.

Come on really? Even a small commercial plane has a couple of hundred people no? I guess they don't matter......

An A380 has around 850 passengers.....

So let me see if I get this correct, because you can carry a bomb on a bus, airport security is silly.

Perhaps security should be tightened up on trains/buses. We can't remove all the avenues that #######s can use, but that doesn't mean we can't remove some.

I think one of the Sportsnet guys posted a few years back that they confiscated his belt because it had a gun design it

Every year Pearson throws a Street Festival and one of things they do is let you take a tour of the airfield on a bus. Of course since it's restricted they wand the people. The first year they did it the guard find a pocket knife on one of them and he tells the guy in charge, who lets the guy on the bus because he said "you can't take it away from him, can you?"

Not to put words in anyone's mouth but I think he's trying to say that no one is going to hijack a plane just to blow up a plane.
