Team Czech are morons.

Hudler's been a top 20 point producer in the NHL this season until the recent falloff by the team. If they want a top 6 winger who's actually been playing like one, he should be there.

And, for those asking, yes, former #Flames forward Roman Cervenka is on the Czech Olympic team.

Czech's on the other board are not happy with that Barinka guy being selected, but apparently he's married to the coaches daughter haha.

What a gong show.

Maybe they'll recruit Hasek again.

Pretty sure Nedved is on the team so his wife will be at the games.

42 year old Nedved LOL. Can't believe his name is still out there, been so long since I heard of him. Maybe Gary Roberts could add some grit to team Canada haha

Cervenka, Nedved and Novotny stand out as particularly ridiculous choices. I'm fine they took Hemsky, but those three should not be on ahead of Hudler and it's not remotely close.

I really do, however, love that they took Ondrej Palat, who is a super impressive young player. Vladi Sobotka is also a good take.

It's pretty immaterial given that their back end is going to get shredded.

Bob Hartley says "Czechs must be very good team. They will win the Olympic Gold Medal. Any team that can keep Jiri Hudler off it must win.

There must be a stigma about Hudler out there. It seemed even when he was a Wing he could never get into Babcocks good books and a lot of the media thought the Flames overpaid for him when he was signed. IMO he's been worth every penny of his contract and the best Flames forward on most nights.

Crazy to think Petr Nedved makes the Czech team over Hudler and Fleischmann. Nedved is 42!

Let me track down the supposed roster that's been leaking.
Petr Nedved? Isnt that dude collecting social security by now? Hes a pensioner! I personally thought he was dead.

Yeah can't get my head wrapped around this one. You'd think his vision would be a huge asset on the big ice. Bad call by the Czechs IMO.

very surprising. 2 things have happened, either the team management have done a downright terrible scouting job and didn't see just how good he's been this year OR they realize he's been good, but just think he's redundant on their roster, which already contains plenty of high skill wingers.

feel bad for him....

This is precisely the kind of thinking that kills international hockey teams and precisely what I'm afraid of seeing from Hockey Canada tomorrow morning.

Milan Michálek (Ottawa Senators)
Roman Červenka (Petrohrad)
Petr Nedvěd (Bílí Tygři Liberec)
Jiří Novotný (HC LEV Praha)

On current form Hudler is much better then any of those players, and its not like those guys are strong bottom 6 players.

How is Nedved even eligible to play for the Czechs? Didn't he play on a Canadian Olympic team? Or is that rule gone?
