I'm sorry, what exactly is so funny about that?
Matt Stajan: 678 GP 115 G 211 A for 326 career points.
Alex Steen: 570 GP 145 G 194 A for 339 career points.
So, an extra 13 points (with a career year this year) in roughly 100 less games, but does anyone remember that Stajan was buried for 2 years on the 4th line here? He might have earned it, but I would argue that he wasn't being utilized well.
Both are nearly the same size, play a solid 2-way game, and kill penalties. Steen's career +/- is +31 but he had one crazy good year on a stacked Blues team where he was +24, Stajan's career +/- is -11 but was at 0 coming into this year and has played on significantly worse teams.
They're basically the same player. I only argued that Stajan could be Steen if he found more consistency to his game and maybe was a bit more physical. They're both good players that aren't big stars. I think the comparison is apt.
