Pretty cool!
I can't eat bananas by themselves. The texture makes me gag, which can be quite entertaining to watch. Coconut is a tremendous food for your diet as well.

Was not sure if that diet she was on would be sufficient for a pregnant mother.

Yeah, not seeing the protein there, the lack of which would restrict fetal growth. Unless she's supplementing, would also need folate to prevent anemia. Fruit tends to be high in sugar, so I would also wonder if the the risk for gestational diabetes, although she is fit which is a mitigating factor.

Well the first part of the article seems to suggest part of the reason for the diet is to keep her weight down, which obviously wouldn't be good for pregnancy. Though, it's low on details, so I'm not sure how low she's staying or how bad it is.
As for the actual diet aspect of it, it does seem more healthy that a lot of other diets, even as someone mentioned, what a significant portion of other pregnant women eat.
The protein thing makes me wonder too. But I just don't know enough about diet and good pregnancy diet enough to be on either side of this story. It feels a bit wrong, but just how much, I'm not sure at all.
The thread title is definitely misleading. Just ten bananas would be bad yes. But it's more than that.

There fixed title as it was misleading.
Still I think she is not eating the ideal diet for her baby, trying to keep extra fit while preggo too. Again not my area of expertise, but my first reaction was, is this good for the baby and I would love to hear from someone who would know.

I can't even handle one banana....I loved them as a kid but hate them as an adult. I do however eat an apple a day.

Yeah, well that's where I agree, like I said earlier trying to keep a low weight or 'ripped' while pregnant can't be good. And it did seem like the article was hinting on that.
However, the article was low on details about weight gain, etc., so I can't fairly flip out over it either. It's hard to know exactly what's going on. It could be the article was just giving her a pat on the back and saying 'naw, you can't see any weight gain' the same way a husband might say. It could also be they were trying to be more controversial than the story really was.

It's a pretty healthy diet from what I can see on her various accounts. A lot of food (she's clearly very active) and there is certainly protein. Most people eat way more protein than actually needed. The diet she follows is the 80/10/10 which is 80% fruits/veg, 10%protein and 10% fat. Low by about 5% protein or so for what many consider as proper and low on fats. However, I'm guessing the protein number is food ingested specifically for the protein and does not count the protein that is present in fruits and veg (never read the diet so I'm not sure but why else would you say 80% fruit rather than carbs or something). Anyways she's likely not that far off from numbers on a typical diet and if she is eating a variety of foods (which her accounts suggest) she likely gets the proper vitamins and minerals. The problem I see for this type of diet is you will have someone that does just eat 1 type or 2 types of fruit rather than 10-15 types. But that really goes for any diet.
Also, keeping weight gain down in pregnancy is typically very beneficial...easier births, quicker recovery etc.
