Flames had PIM for 1/3 of the game. Chances were super-low that the Flames would get through that one. I was just happy they were in the game.

[QUOTE=Super-Rye;4443401]Very few goalies would have gotten Calgary a win last night with the march to the box that they had, coupled with the defensive breakdowns.

I didn't give Ramo the goat horns because I thought he was the worst player on the ice. I gave him the goat horns because I thought I would see more from him is all.[/QUOTE.....]

thats not a definition of a goat ......

I don't see why everyone is so down on the flames' game last night. They played the best team in the league. The flames had a lot of good chances and the work ethic was still there even after the 4-1 lead. The penalties were tough though and I think that's what cost them the game. 5 on 5 it was a pretty even game and a great effort by Calgary. Don't forget, the flames were missing the 3 guys who would have matched up really well for the flames were not there: jones, stajan, and cammalleri.

Liking galliardi and colbourne more and more every game.

Give it a break man. No point in micromanaging the op who has offered countless great articles. He offered his explanation saying that he thought Ramo could have offered a bit more. Nothing wrong with that; Sometimes we forget how spoiled we are watching Kipper night in and night out making those kinds of saves look easy.

Too many penalties called! Ruined the rhythm of both teams.

But I enjoyed watching the Flames last night. It was my first time seeing CGY this year. Monahan is certainly for real. Smart kid.

The sharks might have soundly won this game, but I don't think that was an inevitable given. The Flames made a lot of good plays and NEVER stopped playing. A different set of refs might have changed things a bit.

SJ has played VAN twice already beating them 4-1 in each game. One home, one away. CGY put up a better fight than VAN in either game.

There are some damned good building blocks on this squad. I think CGY should aim to finish above VAN and not just above EDM. It must be a relief to finally be in REAL rebuild mode. It was weird not seeing Iggy on the ice, but there was certainly something going on on the ice that I haven't seen in a flames team in a while. These guys are hungry! Previous squads looked like they were just showing up for work - prepared to put in their 8 hours and go home to watch TV.

I'd say Russel was the goat. Not because he played that badly but because he set the tone of being out muscled. This is what is to be expected when a small defenceman gets nailed by a big forward and loses the puck battle. As said it didn't help that no one was covering in front of the net either.

Anyone else notice when the sharks would go on the power play they'd play jaws music and the crowd would make shark gestures with there hands I thought that was hilarious

Brodie has to be the goat on this one. Your top pairing defenseman just can't be as bad as he has been the past two games.

Ramo faced 9 power plays, he stopped numerous breakaways and a penalty shot.

I'd say he kept us in the game by a fair margin

This game could of been alot worse if not for Ramo saving our bacon. It definately shows that at times kipper saved this team from some serious blowout losses due to defencemen stupidity. I think Ramo will become a damage control master if he has to keep playing games like that one. Cant blame him for the loss but can definately blame the defencemen.
