She could have wondered about the man she was allowing into her 2 year olds sons life and saw that a year ago he was convicted if beatng a 3 year old and a woman.

He wasn't some sneaky monster that had been getting away with this for awhile or a first time offender with no history.

He had a clear history of violence particularly towards children.

What a cold and callous thing to say. People deal with grief and loss in many different ways. In fact it's clear that the author of the article has never lost a loved one and has no clue about how to deal with loss and grief. Trashing the person and his family background is not the way to do it!
