For a second, I thought he was going to replace Charlie Simmer, which would've been great. But him on the radio is good too.

If there's one thing I can fault him for is that he sometimes is a little too positive about everything. As nice as that is in real life, I don't my Flames sugar coated. That's what I loved the most about Mike Rogers...he told you the truth.

Great news. He will fit in very well with Pete. He is very knowledgable about prospects as well so he will definitely be great to listen to.

Peter Maher. Loubo is the new color man on the radio. Kerr and Simmer are still on Sportsnet TV.

Loubardias is good for colour I think. I wouldn't want him doing play by play on the radio. He's too wordy.

Thread title misled me. I was really hoping Charlie 'put me to sleep' Simmer was finally gone.

This will make listening to games suck, Loubardias is like the Anne Hathaway of radio.

I was listening to him yesterday, ranting about "soul searching and looking deep inside yourself". I rarely listen to The Fan, but this is the second time on recent months I've heard him going on about that. It reminded me of an episode of Dr. Phil.

I'm just not a fan of Pete L. or Rob K. for that matter. I was hoping to listen to more PBP games on The Fan with Peter Maher this year but ended up getting Bell after cancelling cable. Hard to believe that we have some of the worst media personalities covering the same team, of course it's my opinion but they're both quite annoying to say the least.

Good for Peter. It will be interesting to see how long it takes for him and Peter to develope chemistry as it's really the other side of the coin for Loubardias doing colour.

I agree but this of all years this upcoming season is probably going to be pretty bad and we may at times appreciate a thicker layer of icing to distract us from the awful product.

Great news as I was afraid he was going to be on full time as Boomers sidekick on the morning show. He is brutal in that role. I listen on the drive in every morning, and I was close to switching stations. He takes forever to transfer a thought to voice. He want have that luxury as colour, where you usually have a 5-10 second window.
He should be OK, and he can learn by working with the best in the business.

Excellent news. He is a great guy and I love his passion for the game and his knowledge of junior players

I agree abut the concern that he may be too positive all the time for a colour guy, but let's wait and see.

Nice. I travel a lot and 960 always keeps me close to the team. Good to know the radiocasts will keep the quality high.

his hair is way too nice for him to be on radio.......anywyas, the optics of this seem bizzare. SNet fires him from TV, but allows him to freelance on the radio, then provides him with a steady gig.......

anwyas, good for Lubo as I like him, and SNet firing him from TV for Kerr was a stupid move.
