Wow, I thought he'd be doing 2-3 years at 2.5-3.5.

Maybe time for Lou to look at retirement. This deal is horrible.

Who will be bought out first? Horton or Clowe?

Can't afford Clarkson, so they sign a guy who's 60 per cent as good for 85 per cent the money?

I was thinking more like a 1 year deal to prove he is better than what he has recently shown.
He must have a seriously smooth talking agent.

Wow, this I think is immediately the stupidest contract. Why not sign Clarkson for that instead.

I'm a big Clowe fan, but this is insane! Assuming that he goes right back to his proper game (a dangerous thing to assume), no way would I go more than $3.5 for 3. $2.5 for 3 would be a lot better...
Seems that these days, there are one or two teams that wheel and deal on FA day that turn out to be winners, at least 20 that are losers and a handful of teams that do next to nothing end up winners by default.
Too much insanity on Day 1.

Kept looking up at the screen in time to see the TSN photo of Clowe in the corner...thought Doug Weight had come out of retirement...

If Clowe is getting this kind of money, it's time for another lockout.
