One more thing...if the Saskatchewan Marathon is like it was when I ran it, your biggest problem may be the very few entries. There were times when I never say anyone within eye-shot, either ahead or behind me. I found that terribly unmotivating. It was hugely difficult to keep going, but I set my PR there.

My big concern with losing other people is taking a wrong turn.

Easier on the nipples, but all that swinging and slapping would probably start hurting after 5 miles.

Sorry, repeating yourself comes with age. You'll understand....one day. Ask your parents.

Just checked, right now there is 8230 registered runners for all the distances, with 1047 right now signed up for the marathon. Looks like both the Marathon and Half start at the same time, so it'll be fun with over 4000 people at the start.

I ran my first marathon in Kelowna last October. The one piece of advice I can give you is this: relax, take in everything going on around you, and enjoy it. You will always remember your first marathon - so try to enjoy it as much as you can! Oh, and take off your sunglasses before you cross the finish line - better picture.

No advice, because I only run if something's chasing me, lol. I just wanted to say good luck, Dodsmond! Same to anyone else running in the next little while.

Does anyone run with a water bottle?

I'm looking for a little belt/fanny pack to hold a small water bottle. The more snug and smaller the belt/pack the better.

Any suggestions/reviews? This will no doubt get me style points as well.

Did you train in saskatoon as well? I've found the past few weeks since I've come back to Calgary I've been feeling so much better about my runs now that they aren't in -20 weather with snow all over the trails.
Yeah ben doing all my training in Saskatoon. Plenty of it during the real deep freeze in the Field House. Round and round and round... yikes. Have been back outside fulltime for the past few weeks so it's all good. Saskatoon has it's warts but the river trails are amazing for running. Just love it!

Yeah the Sk Marathon only has about 200 ish for the full distance. Gonna be pretty dismal once the two groups split off.

I always run the Bridge City Boogie. It's just a 2, 5 and 10k but there are over 6000 participants. I love the big crowd. Something very inspiring about people just getting out and being active no matter your fitness level.

I recently got a 4 bottle fuel belt at the Running Room on sale for $15. They usually run about $50. Not sure if it's a chain wide sale but worth checking into.
First few kms were weird getting used to it. But nice to have that hydration always available.

Well since I'm on a posting spree today... had a real great 12 mile run today. Did it in 1h 36m. Didn't exert myself too much and felt like a million bucks when I was done. Feeling pretty good heading into the run on the 26th.
But I did need to pis again. I think it's more a mind thing at this damn point.

You know that four-bottle fuel belt you got? Two bottles, water in; two bottles, water out. Problem solved! You're welcome.

Ya so much easier to run with a crowd, keeps my spirits up and makes me want to prove to the crowd I can run fast haha. I did the Brainsport Brainfreeze Half in March and from Circle Dr bridge on I was basically by myself, definitely makes it tougher to get inspired out there.
