Does sound like he may have been a good pick up. Hope the first game wasn't just adrenalin.

Nemisz is a bust, he may end up as a 4th liner someday but he's another Sutter mistake. to trade the 17th pick in that draft was ######ed.

Not that I would have done any better as I wanted Anton Gustafsson

I'm excited. I really enjoyed watching him play those last few games last season.

You sure you aren't thinking of Breen who is done for the season?

Irving and Nemisz will both play careers in the NHL. Just not with the Flames. Bummer

Nemisz's contract is up after this year. Do you think we dont send him a qualifying offer and let him become a UFA?

I dont see him having a future with the Flames at all. I never liked the pick anyway so no huge loss in my eyes.

Nemisz is a waste of a contract spot. He should be done after this season, unless he signs an AHL deal.

This call-up makes no sense like most moves by the team this year.
Who would you have preferred?

In terms of Neimsz vs Aliu. Aliu is a much more physical player (when he wants to of course but even at his laziest he's more physical than Neimsz) and has outscored Neimsz in less games.

Neimsz is a bust. Bad pick at the time and turned out even worse than expected.

No surprise that the Flames called up Aliu. This will definitely be a 'statement game' I think - Aliu is here to try and stir things up, and help to punish the Oil physically. Should be a fireworks game tonight after that embarrassment at home the other night.

With respect to Nemisz, I think the Flames re-sign him. There are guys coming off contracts after this season, and there will be room for him. Perhaps he is a disappointment thus far, but he is at least a good leader on the Heat team and AHL player, and can still be a decent 3rd liner in the NHL at some point. Some prospects just take longer to pan out, that's all. Still too early to call him a bust.

i thought Aliu was ok last night. Showed some good hustle as the game went on.

Would rather he stay for a few more games and get the hunger for a big off season.

well he was an emergency callup and has to go down once that emergency goes away. Glencross was only out with the flu, my guess would be that he is good to go tomorrow.

I'm fine with this. I thought he looked pretty disinterested last night which is concerning for a guy fighting for his next contract. In one instance he got out muscled by Taylor hall on the boards. He needs to play consistently physical to be effective, can't see it ever happening for him.

I wouldn't read into this as much more than just a numbers game. As others have mentioned Glencross was only out with the flu and players can only be called up in an emergency situation, plus you have newly minted Hanowski and possibly Cundari <sp?> possibly getting playing time during the last few games.

Considering the amount of ice time he was given last night I would be shocked if he wasn't given a contract next year.
