We had an anomoly this year...something that we have never seen before.
A roan colored deer. When it was born last summer, it was almost pure white but it slowly turned into a speckled roan color. The deer is somewhat smaller than the other fawns from last year and is hairier as well.
It was really weird to see him walk in the snow, when the snow was deeper. His legs are almost all white so all you saw was sort of a blob moving along the top of the snow.
Anyhow, it survived and I took a few pictures of it this evening. The deer had finished their treat of oats that I give them in the evening and had moved on to eating any sunflower seeds the birds might have dropped on the ground.
