I believe Bouwmeester has put himself into a position to get back to where he once was. Hartley and the coaching staff do have a lot to do with it. Kudos to Bouw and the Flames for turning his stint in Calgary around.

Now with that being said, this is a small sample size and I hope he and the Flames can continue to carry on this play throughout the shortened season.

Right now my opinion of Bouw is wavering just a little from wanting him traded but as a Flames fan whipping boy for three seasons, his popularity will be sitting on the edge of a knife for a while. 6-10 solid games from Bouwmeester does not erase 3 seasons of apathy so easily. Lets hope this is a good sign of things to come!

He's finally playing good. Trade him while his value the best it's been in a while.

Bouwmeester has really exceeded my expectations this season(so far), and as a fan I always prefer to have short term memory when it comes to players. In fact, I don't think I can hate any player that is a part of the Calgary Flames.

Though I believe trading Bouwmeester would be a big mistake, this exact thought did cross my mind too. To be honest, I don't think this is the direction Flames fans really want the team to go, no matter how appealing it might seem at the time.

I no longer have to hide my bouwmeester jersey in the closet out of fear of disrespect and ridicule. So that's something.

Far too early for me to even approach excitement.

He is playing well, close to what he should have been playing all along. But every player goes through good streaks. I'm going to need to see a whole season of this to really start revising my opinion of him. Sounds harsh maybe, but 8 games out of 4 seasons? That's nothing.

I want to be hopeful that it's a better coaching style for him, or he's being utilized better, and he's turning a corner, but every time I do that, I remember the recent past. And then I logically look at this 'streak', vs his whole tenure here. And I just can't do it. We've all seen players get hot, or in this case, seem to care for a while then go back to old habits.

I probably won't revise my opinion of him until I see some great playoff play out of him. Which obviously hangs on many factors.

This is a prime example of someone trying to turn a thouroughbread into a plow horse. He was not able to demonstrate what he is capable of in the Calgary system before now. I expect him to improve as the year goes on. The fact that he is durable only makes it better. The threat of Bouwmeester and Wideman is creating problems for these other teams. Finally, consistent scoring threat from the back end.

I'm liking what I've been seeing from Bouwmeester. I hope he keeps it up and proves all the haters wrong. Brent Sutter almost ruined him by trying to make him something he's not.

Oh, I guess I'm not with the program as I thought you were rudely blasting others over a funny harmless rib. I retract the pic previously and place it here for me.

I like Jaybo too, but don't know why Sutter got him on the team if he didn't have a vision of how to use him properly. He plays a certain style of hockey, and I don't think the Sutter way (especially the Brent Sutter way) was how Jaybo can play.

Ok enough talk about me. It's not the "most underrated poster on CP" thread. hehe

It's about our soft-hitting, even softer-speaking franchise D man who has emerged from his 3 years of suckitude and is amping up his play and role in here.

This thread is too fishy coming from Bertuzzied. It's a trap, this is a undercover bash Brent Sutter thread I can just tell.

He's playing well for sure, but I'm going to wait until the 24 game mark before I even start to get excited.
