Something in the Jets organization is very odd, when it comes to deciding who plays in net. Many times over the year, Montoya has stood on his head, only to watch Pavelec start the next 3 games. Montoya strikes me as the better goalie of the two, and seems to be a late bloomer (he had one impressive season for the Islanders in 2010-11).

Montoya stats 2013-14: 10-4-2 (2.18GAA) 0.927 SP
Pavelec stats 2013-14 18-22-4 (2.97GAA) 0.901 SP

UFA this offseason if I'm not mistaken. Pedigree goalie, getting to be the age where they 'make it' in the NHL. He'll be a shrewd acquisition for a team that is in need of desperate help in goal.
