Sorry, I shouldn't have said anything, bad form. I know I'll be slaughtered though, so just pretend I didn't say anything.

My neighbour, who occasionally babysat me, was on the Titanic when she herself was a young child.

I would've said Edmund Fitzgerald, but if you want to open that can of worms, have at it.

That is pretty wordy......
Even know Rose and Jack were completely fictional, Cameron's sense of history(and possibly humor) came threw with these two. There was a passenger named Rosemary who survived by being hauled into a returning lifeboat. And a tombstone in the Halifax Titantic graveyard with the name J Dawson on it gets flowers year round since the movie was released.

Edit: found a pic

I'm 30. This was in the early 80's and she was already quite old then.

I'm guessing you grew up in Nova Scotia, A lot of Titanic survivors settled there. My grandfather knew two of them.

FYI, Sept 11 was disastrous but not really a disaster.

We read and watched "A Night to Remember" in grade 8 English class, back in '89. It's not like it only became relevant due to James Cameron.

I bet more men got action by going to that movie than most other movies in history. That makes it manly enough for me.
