Too risky for Wal-Mart. A riot can break out any second in Vancouver.

Couldn't really tell which side of Boundary that was on until I zoomed in. You are right. (It's not "right downtown" though, the other side of Boundary is Burnaby, so this is technically the edge of Vancouver city limits.)

Why are we even discussing where the Wal-Marts are in Vancouver? It was just a riot joke some people didn't get. The video is from Texas.

I definitly got it. It was just WindsorPilates's comment that there was no Walmart in Vancouver that piqued my interest.

Geez, how small is the actual city of Vancouver? It seems tiny....like really tiny.

It's pretty small. It goes to Boundary Rd. on the East and then water on the other 3 sides. Here's a map:

Unless you actually live there, Vancouver to everyone else in the world is the actual city/West Van/North Van/UBC/Burnaby/Richmond.

Edit: Hell, I include everything on that map as Vancouver.

So when they say Vancouver is the third biggest city in Canada, what the hell are they reffering to? Do they just include Burnaby, Delta, Richmond, Mew West Minister, WhiteRock, Surrey, North Vancouver (district), North Vancouver (city), UEL, West Vancouver, Abbostford, Anmore, Port Moody, Belcara, Coquitlom, etc?

You're probably right, but my initial thought was that they wanted to call the cops to report the cops.

So umm, if you are willing to risk your life, limb, and willing to "fight" for these deals, why not just steal it? Then you don't have to wait for sale day, and probably alot safer. Your a ####ing ######bag and a drain on society either way, why not risk less?

When convenient, they count the whole "lower mainland" as Vancouver. Otherwise, they only consider the rich, hip, educated, beautiful people of Vancouver City Proper as Vancouverites. It's hard to feel superior to the rest of Canada (esp. Calgary) if you include Surrey in your kinship.

Oops, still talking about Vancouver, sorry!

Do you guys not know the difference between city and metropolitan areas? Almost every city is like this and it's places like Calgary where the metro and urban populations are quite similar that are exceedingly rare.

Metropolitan Vancouver includes all of those places and has a population of 2.1 million people, but the actual City of Vancouver is quite small and has only a little over 500,000 residents. Just like the city of Los Angeles has 3.8 million people (metro area has 15 million), the city of Chicago has 2.7 million (metro population of 8.7 million), and the city of Seattle has 600,000 people (metro population 3.4 million). That's generally what happens when a bunch of independent cities grow into eachother.

He wasn't even shoplifting. Legally, as far as I know, it's not shoplifting until you pass the furthest possible point without paying, or leave the store without paying.

According to the story he put it under his shirt to avoid the grabbing hands that were stealing from other people left and right, and so that he could help his grandson with two hands.

What happened to innocent until proven guilty? Cops are out of control these days.

Yes, I know the difference between city and metropolitan areas. I just didn't realize it was that extreme. Vancouver city is smaller than friggen Winnipeg, lol.
