Well the River Cafe is a Michelin-starred (and celebrity-frequented) Italian restaurant right on the Thames around the Fulham/Hammersmith border. Closest tube is Hammersmith.
As for Chinatown, I have been to some very good places but have no idea what any of them are called. Tiny little holes-in-the-wall but great food. Also, if she likes Indian food go to Brick Lane... or just go there to check it out even if she doesn't like Brick Lane.
Agree with most thing other posters have said. Lots of great countryside around London, I am particularly fond of Sussex especially for country-walking. On Sunday I walked from Battle (site of the Battle of Hastings) to Hastings itself. Lots of castles and manors down there, and Beachy Head and/or Seven Sisters are beautiful scenic cliffs on the channel worth checking out.
Personally, I am not fond of the Covent Garden pubs. Far too crowded! There are some great, historic and atmospheric pubs in Soho, Whitechapel and along the Thames in the city and east London.
