The majority (61%) of multi-vehicle crashes are due to the action of the other driver, usually failing to see or give way to the rider.
I'm just gonna go ahead and assume it was the guy in the truck's fault until proven otherwise. Generally, the sort of person who runs someone over and then takes off isn't a good driver.
