I suggest hitting the zoo if you do go to San Diego. On top of being featured at the start of Three's Company, it's a great zoo, too.

There's some package deals out there, not sure if they're good or not.

Probably should mention that Redweek is a site (like someone else mentioned above) for folks to rent out a timeshare week they don't want.

Downside: They probably only have 1 available
Upside: They might be negotiable on the price, especially if it looks like they might not get it rented otherwise.

Yeah, once I was able to get a great price on someone renting out a timeshare. It was pretty late notice (only a few weeks out) and for the week we were going there was like a dozen units all similar for rent in what looked like the same property, so I just asked the one I liked for an additional discount since I knew I was probably their only chance.

We usually head out from Phoenix to San Diego once a year. We only stay a few nights. One of these times, I'd like to rent a house out there for a week or so.
