The 49ers have taken QB-Alex Smith #1 overall. The Dolphins are on the talk, and apparently are still considering trading the #2 pick.

No trade by the Dolphins...they draft RB-Ronnie Brown.

What the hell was that Detroit???

I love Williams and think that many teams made a mistake by passing him up, especially minnesota because Williams is much better than Williamson.

But we already have WR's. It might be our deepest spot. We totally needed Johnson or one of the DE's there.

I know sometimes you take the best guy on the board but I have no idea what they were thinking.

I really don't know what to say, we could've traded down, we could've picked defense, but going by the board Mike Williams is a STEAL at #10, I thought he wouldn't get past #6. I feel this is a good move, I thought the Vikings would trade UP for Williams. This could work out to be either very very good or very bad. They picked him awfully quick meaning it was like a no-brainer for them. I have no problem having Williams in there, we may have thought we needed a better pash rusher or a better LB to be there for when Holmes retires but we're pretty decent there with Lehman and Bailey. We don't really need a DL THAT bad, Wilkinson, Rogers, Hall, Edwards are all coming along, we have decent cornerbacks and none we there that was worth the 10th pick. Mike Williams is a damn steal at 10 regardless if he's what we NEED the most, he's the best player available and I am very happy with him. Roy Williams and Charles Rogers (god willing) wide out, Mike Williams in the slot. God damn.

Listening to Millen and Mooch on live 97.1 I'm confident they know what they're doing, they drafted increidable last year and this year their plan is in place. They can get Defense in other places, don't have to waste the #10 on an unworthly player when Mike Williams can be a producer from day one.

Yeah WTF was that drafting Willaimson instead of Williams for the Vikes.

Williams has some of the softest hands in the draft and the perfect, yes perfect combo of size and speed.

If thats who you were going to draft. Trade DOWN. Bad bad move IMO.

I love williams as well. I am just concerned with how we are going to get him Rogers and roy time on the field. they don't all have to start but would be nice to have your three first rounders, plus K jones, to be able to start for you.

I like the pick. Just wondering if we couldn't have picked up some help at more need places.

Oh well we will see.

I always thought that we were in a good spot at 10. Just wait and see how the draft fell and pick the guy that fell to us. whether it was Rolle, Johnson, Barron or a DE. Never figured us to pick a WR. It seems that is what the Lions did saw who everyone else picked and went with the guy they felt was the best choice.

Aaron Rogers at 24.

Its a terrific day to be a Packer fan.

We will stink on D for another year, but this was just WAY to good to pass up with Brett probably gone in 2 years max.

I agree - I can't believe Rogers fell this far. I bet the Pack didn't even think they had a shot at him.

That being said, the analysts on ESPN radio where suggesting that Favre will be upset that they didn't pick a player that can help them win a superbowl now. Do you think this is the case? Frankly I can't see a class guy like Favre not being happy with his organization getting a value pick like this at 24.

One of the issues is though how much immediate help would the guy that they pick at 24 have?

Its not likely that that guy is going to put you over the top. You can get a nice guy but not sure that at 24 your are going to get a real playmaker as a rookie.

I can't see Favre being upset and I think he will really enjoy the chance to work with the young kid and help him develop as a QB to take over from him when he decides to retire.

Value pick, and if Joey can't get the ball to them, Garcia will, he went to the probowl throwing it up for TO. Not to mention that we'll almost certaintly draft a QB in the 4th round.

What a steal. They had to be falling all over themselves as he remained on the baord pick after pick.

Yeah, unreal that a guy projected to be possibly the first overall falls to the Packers at 24. I know the Chiefs need help on defence, but I was wondering if they shouldn't look at Rogers with the 15 pick because Greene is like 34, and they have nothing to back him up. Than again Johnson is a playmaker and a great athlete from what I hear. So combind him with Surtain and I think the Chiefs did fairly well today. Considering that the three best corners were off the board long before the Chiefs got to pick I have no problems with the Chiefs grabbing an experienced corner and taking a guy who could be their next Dereck Thomas with their top pick.

Great pick by the Broncos. Rod Smith should NOT be returning punts, he's too important to the offense and this Williams kid from Oklahoma State will take over the return duties.

He'll also be competing for nickel and dime corner duty. 11 interceptions in his college career.....5 returned for TD's.

Nobody is taking QB's. Cleveland grabbed a good one in Frye with the 3rd pick in round 3. He's got a chance to be a starter at some point.
