I spent some time working in Malaysia and could only get beef bacon over there...like warm jerky...not very good.

Went to a job in Thailand with a Muslim Project Manager from Malaysia. The hotel had real bacon! I asked the PM if he wanted some. He politely declined as he is Muslim. I told him, "One bite of bacon and you'll throw all that Muslim stuff out the window"...

Mess around with Bacon, and you will end up in a meat coma at Bolero.

I think -TC- meant was saying he would eat it if you threw in some vitamin pills or something.

Empty calories generally mean the food in question lacks nutritional qualities such as vitamins, fiber, antioxidents, etc., whereas full calories refer to food rich in these kind of nutrients.

You know for years I ate bacon & never thought much of it. But the smell of bacon... the taste is mesmerizing. I found I began to crave more. More bacon. more delicious aroma. More fat...
Then I found smoked meats... I began hanging out on street corners in front of meat shops doing deals with the owners inside. I'd walk in to the meat store looking right & left before I went in to make sure I wasn't followed & put $5 on the counter & walk away with a kilo or two of concealed smoked ham or smoked turkey.
I thought I could handle it. And for awhile I did. I hid my cravings. My desires. And then one day I found smoked chicken. I couldn't stand it anymore. My life was in shambles. Lost my wife, my kids. Even my job. All my money went to buying smoked meats or smoked salmon. All of it. It was clear I had to do something or I'd die.
Now I'm in rehab trying to kick my smoked meat habit. Things are going well, thank you. It was tough at first but I know I'll get thru it. When they say that bacon is a gateway meat, don't laugh because it is true. Bacon can ruin your life. Addiction is a serious business.
**** you pig!

The only way that your story could have been better if you described hitting rock bottom, where you sat on a street corner with a battered pig costume on while holding a sign up with a desperate look on your face that stated that you would "Wrestle you naked for some bacon"

The you realized that you hit rock bottom when one night after a bacon fueled bender you woke up battered and bruised, and you looked at the package that had been left for you and it was "Vegetarian Bacon"

And you ate it anyways.

I love bacon. I only eat it about once every two months though.

har!

One bacon strip contains about 40 calories, 3.5g of fat, 1.7g of saturated fat, 7.5mg of cholesterol, 120mg of sodium, and 2.5g of protein. The meat is cured and smoked before you buy it. Nutritionally speaking, it is high in sodium and has a moderate amount of saturated fat, but the thing you have to watch out for when it comes to bacon is the nitrates (also called nitrites like sodium nitrite). It's a preservative used in processed food to help maintain its color.
Nitrates can be found in bacon, hot dogs, sausages, and cold cuts. The reason they are so bad for us is that when we cook them at high temps, they form Nitrosamines, which are carcinogenic. In the news, nitrite-based preservatives were found to be linked to pancreatic cancer.

I tried a Lasagna once that added a layer of raw bacon in for every layer of noodle, as it was constructed.
Normally, grease is not my forte, but, that #### was absolutely awesome. It was the chick's mom's recipe or something.

Thanks, Mrs. Dinafrio!

Yes it does. I use to laugh at my ex cutting anything that looked like fat off a steak but would chow down on bacon like it was as good as sex.
