I always thought Fro was criminally underrated as part of that line...not that he could do anything with whatever it is Backlund has become now.

Most DEFINITELY should get a top level coach. Treliving can't keep going after unknown commodities. His job is on the line with the team results whether he gets a coach that goes over his head or not. It's easy to keep your job if you get successful results.
But he needs to be better at building a roster as well. It's more so the core is broken, rather than the coach being the primary issues. But a great coach could mask a lot of those issues by drawing blood out of stone for a prolonged period of time.

Seriously though Laviolette is like right there.
Wont shock me if trades happened this coming weekend. Little California swing.

That's the thing though. I'll be surprised if Treliving does anything at all.

Hrudey: "Geoff Ward needs to find a way to keep pushing these buttons."
Hrudey, Ward hasn't pushed a single button his entire tenure.

Trade Gaudreau in the offseason. Trade Hamonic at the deadline. Hope to get a good draft pick. This team needs a retool - post all star break last year to now has been a bunch of poor hockey.

This team has no chance to win a cup this year. As much as it pains me say again, I'd bet on the Nucks and Oilers over the Flames to win.

####ing insane to me.
Game isn't even over, and they've already conceded. That's a red flag for me if I'm the GM that something rather large has to be done here.

Lol at Hrudey saying Ward is pushing buttons. Punishment from him from this game will be playing soccer tomorrow at practice with two balls not three or only 2 songs not 4.
The team needs a coach who’s won in this league so they can follow his lead and trust that his methods are proven. It’s not the total answer but it adds the accountability thst the roster needs forced on them it seems.

There is no way in hell that Treliving should get to pick another coach...

It's very obvious that this team as stands, isn't even close to a championship.

Yes, just look at the great heights all of our bargain bin hires have gone on to.

If this score holds up, the Flames will have a -19 goal differential. They are not a legitimate contender.
I've decided I don't want them to trade a single draft pick. Keep them all. If they can get a 2nd and a 3rd for Hamonic, get it. The Flames could really use a 10-pick draft for the sake of the future because I don't think this core has a Stanley Cup in them. Gio is a beauty, but he is old and slowing down. Gaudreau plays scared and is easily neutralized in the playoffs. Monahan is soft and too slow, although I appreciate his efforts to become a two-way centre capable of keeping up with elite centres. Bennett is no cowardly lion and has an elite skill set, but he takes too many penalties and lacks offensive awareness.

Oof, what a brutal follow up game to that Oiler's debacle. Another two points gone to a non-playoff team...

The give a crap meter on this team is broken.
Tough to watch them fold against a team like the Sharks. Says a lot about this team.

This is very embarassing. Really glad that I have been trying my best to not get emotionally invested this season. Treliving isn't going to do jack ####.

Also, wasn't Ward the guy the Flames wanted as head coach before Peters or Gulutzan? Worrying.
