A lot of JG hate, sure he's small and easy to bounce of a puck but the kid has skill.

Mark my words he'll be challenging Jesus for the scoring title.

Jesse Puljujarvi sighting. He's in for Finland this morning. In case people were concerned for his well being.

I hope he's an even bigger bust than Yakupov, would make landing Tkachuk that much sweeter.

Oilers had funner toys to play with this year (their words, I assume). Puljujarvi will sit in the toy box until Connor or Leon break.

The Americans are painful to watch. Bad penalties, giveaways and lost battles all over. They deserve to be eliminated.

Sebastian Aho is just an excellent player. He's much stronger than he looks and his hands are great. Player of the game in my mind. Gaudreau has been a bit disappointing. Not getting any help from his teammates and the UShave taken three offensive zone penalties in the third period.

Today he's been underwhelming (as has the whole team) but overall Gaudreau looked great in this tournament.

Grubauer gives up a juicy rebound for Skinner, Canada goes up 2-0. Couple mins left in the second.

Grubauer has been a beast this game.. He's the only reason this game is only 2-0 IMO

He may be up there but this discussion has been had many times before. He carries the puck a lot. Far more than any player on the team.

And it averages out to 1.19 times per game. Suggesting that makes him something that does that repeatedly is a gross exaggeration.

Other forwards in that range include Marchand and Crosby. Also players who carry the puck a lot. No coincidence.

Draisaitl is right up there good for 75 in 82 games or 0.91 times a game. He's a turnover machine as well?

Again, gross hyperbole. Several people have responded and said it's a fair criticism of him. I never said it wasn't. I said calling him a "turnover machine" and a player who "does more bad than good" is asinine.
I think Johnny had more glaring giveaways that lead to scoring chances/goals against vs other years. It is defense adapting to his style. He is smart enough to adjust and limit those. I predict a 10-15 pt increase next year.

Yep, he stood on his head in the third for sure. He gave Germany a chance.

It was nice seeing Draisaitl being eliminated twice in just over a week.

To me early in the season Johnny tried to force the play too much.
As the season went on and he was reunited with Monahan and picked up on the system he got more back on track. He should be ready this season with no excuses.
