Crazy Rain Storm!

I literally had JUST posted the ad to sell my wife's car (parked in the driveway), and the storm hit.

Click Submit > THUNDER crack > HAAAAAAAAAIL

I figured for sure that the world was gonna say "F U" and there was going to end up being some damage to it, but the hail didn't get any bigger than small marbles here. Phew.

Those of you who are already on the edge about the summer weather better sit down before reading further...

There was frost on my neighbour's garage this morning. No joke.

There are a few caveats, however. This was in the far NW, where it is always colder than the rest of the city. It is also an insulated garage, so the roof was probably colder than the non-insulated garages. And my outdoor thermometer said that it was a balmy 4 degrees.

But still... thought I'd share. Don't do anything drastic.

It was cold out this morning. I took the garbage out at 6am without a jacket, and was like ffffffffuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu.

Forget frost and such this morning, the forecast they have on the Weather Network's site (I know, I know) calls for a lovely high of 11 on Saturday and 9 on Sunday. Awesome!

this is a great city to work and get ahead in life but the weather makes it tough to want to stay.

There are not many places in this country I would leave here for but Kelowna is starting to make me think twice. I just want a pool in my backyard and warm mornings so I can read my paper outside.

My cousin lives in Kelowna and in her old house they found Black Window and Wolf spiders. Apparently it's warm enough that all kinds of crazy critters can survive!

Except in the winter Kelowna the valley are just as cold as Calgary. Growing up in Vernon, it still hit's -20 in the winter.

The difference is Kelowna is guaranteed a "wintery" winter (cold but not stupid cold), and a "summery" summer (at least a full 6 months of livable outdoor weather).

Calgary gets random winters (sometimes nice, sometime hellish), proceeded by a random shot at summer (take a spin! guess how many days of summer Calgary will actually get!). Sometimes we win, sometimes (this year) we lose. And boy did we lose hard.

I would be happy with a Canadian winter if I am rewarded with a good summer.
A patio heater or two could extend my outdoor life a month on either side I would hope.

You've seen the forecast, right? Highs of mid-to-upper teens for the next five days or so, with plenty of rain.

^You must have missed last September then. I remember working in High River near the end of the month and it was 36. I can only hope it doesn't reach 30 until next summer. Honestly, what is it about the heat that people love? There is nothing you cant do outside at 30 that you can do at 20. One is just a lot more comfortable than the other.

Weather can kiss my I checked the weather an hour ago and it 60% percent of showers later today and an hour it later it says of mix of sun and cloud.
