Standouts for me so far are Foo, Valimaki, Dube, and Fox.....and to top them all is Parsons. The Flames have a jewel in the making with him.

First half impressions:

Zach Fischer: never heard of him before but I like his game. Chippy, hard on the forecheck, and relentless in taking the puck to the net. Impressive showing.

Valimaki: Unspectacular but involved and didn't make any mistakes that I noticed. Great shootout goal.

Doetzel: thought he looked good. Stripped the puck off a few guys and carried it well.

Kylington: same as usual for me... looks great for a few seconds then loses the puck. At least 5 turnovers.Better ddefensively though and looks way stronger than before. Probably the best skater on the ice and constantly involved in the play.

Josh Teves: played really well. Made a few good breakout passes, didn't get beat. Fluid skater and calm.

Tuulola: not great. Had to check roster to see if playing.

Fox: meh. Didn't do a whole lot. Kylington was far more noticeable and involved.

Ruopp: really big and pretty solid D. Not the best looking stride but good speed and was a challenge for the other team at both ends of the ice. Looks like he has some potential.

Foo: good showing. Made a great pass through traffic first shift, stripped the puck off Fox on the forecheck, showed good hands and net drive.

Healey: crushed a guy in the corner

Here is Foo's shootout goal, even higher quality:

It seems like we are talking about Parsons like we were talking about Gaudreau before in the development camps. We knew he was going to be awesome.

True. Parsons is incredible. His movement is flawless looking and he is so fast. He's the most exciting prospect for me since Gaudreau.

The way he gets up after a save to make the next save, I swear it's Tim Thomas out there. Probably my favorite prospect, although I'm just as high on Jankowski.

Kylington scored a nice PP goal on a one timer and followed it up with a phenomenal shift where he had the puck repeatedly and set up a fewtap ins that didn't get finished. Awesome stuff.

Ain't that the truth. If that isn't the definition of "stick handling in a phonebooth" I don't know what is.

Pollock just made a dandy move and then went bar over Parsons' shoulder

In addition to Dube, the other forward I was impressed with was Mangiapane - was really skating well and scored on a snipe on Parsons with an excellent shot. He could be knocking on the door soon.

Really want Mangiapane to make it to the NHL. Simply so the Flames can play this song every time he scores:

Why is every goal description being scored on Parsons? Is he playing at both ends?

I may be overblowing this concern, given who our #1C is, but Foo's skating doesn't look nearly NHL ready.
