Remind sme of Eric Daze, hopefully not as injury prone.

yup, forgot those two. Perhaps Cammalleri and Baerstchi are out opening day, so we're keeping a couple exxtra forwards around?
Obviously Stemps is in that starting line-up.

Sorry if this has been asked and already answered (I am sure it has), but is Colbourne going to start in Abbotsford or Calgary?

He would have to clear waivers to go to Abbotsford.
Since the Flames have traded a 4th for him, they are not going to risk him getting claimed off waivers this early on.
He will start in Calgary

Calgary as I doubt he would pass through waivers.

Considering Colborne would have to pass through waivers to be assigned to Abbottsford, it looks like he'll be on the NHL roster. He might be in the press box, though.

Feaster interview: http://flames.nhl.com/club/podcastpl...d=35&iid=43751
Says they wouldn't have made the trade if they didn't think he was NHL ready.

I can imagine the guy is excited to come home to Calgary and be given a spot at last in an NHL team. The flames are showing confidence in him and I hope that's what he needs to take the next step to become an NHLer. The upside of a 6'5" centerman with great hands is too good not to risk on a 4th round pick. The flames maynot have much for high end talent at centre right now but they have plenty of good young options to go forward with between backlund, Monahan, granlund, jankowski, cobourne, Reinhart, Horak, knight, and galiardi.

We should wait to see how he plays in the regular season before we ship him off. He has earned some regular season games to show what he can do. If he proves to be good enough to center one of the top 3 lines then he should stay. With Colborne being signed I would bet he eventually gets sent down but no need to rush a decision.

Is his nickname going to be "Burner"? Because if it is, it'll be one of the few good hockey nicknames.

Stajan-Backlund-Monahan-Horak/Coburne.
Feel bad for Horak. He may get pushed out.

Maybe for the first nine games. This trade points to Monahan only getting an early look which IMO is fine.

Doesn't it seem like we have too many forwards right now? We've got quite the glut of them. There's ten guys who could have a cup of coffee by the end of the season if they aren't up with the big club permanently.
A two-for-one trade involving all forwards would be ideal right about now.

If monahan stays, and knight stays in the AHL for a while I would package horak and a 2nd for a quality ELC 2-3yr RHD or RW who is stuck behind a depth chart in a already rebuilding team. Something around that. Sometime these trades can be made before the deadline when a team needs depth and a scorer going into playoffs and we package stempy and a 2nd or something.
