Geez, that offensive pass interference on Getzlaf was a homer call...

Amazing the refs finally call a Rider for a clear push-off.

Great call and hearing Suitor crying and trying to justify the play was awesome.

Get well soon Fred, you're one of the most fun players in the CFL to watch.

Another change in Riderville.

Interesting move. Durant obviously isn't doing so good right now. I guess the Riders think it is because of an issue with his receiving corps.

Personally I think the issue is with Durant himself. He just doesn't look comfortable out there. He's not getting great help from the Oline but I think most of his issues are in his head.

I wonder if these trade was done to create salary cap space for two players currently trying out in the NFL as there odds don't look good to make either squad. As Luc Mullinder was earning some pretty big dough. The two players I'm talking about is Andy Fantuz, who would be in his option year if he comes back to the CFL and its almost guaranteed Saskatchewan would want to work on a long term deal with him. Then you have John Chick who would be a free agent if he came back, Matt Dominguez said not long ago, that he and John talked not long ago and his preferred destination if he came back to the CFL would be Saskatchewan. One more thing Saskatchewan highly values John Chick.

Rob Vanstone tweeted tonight, Yvenson Bernard is expected to join the Saskatchewan Roughriders' practice roster in the next day or two.

In the BC game, Riders and Durant were just plain bad. The loss against the Stamps was entirely due to recievers dropping passes. I noticed the Stamps had trouble against Hamilton in the first half running the same defence as the week before against the Riders. Hamilton was running zone busters with their recievers, gasp, actually catching the ball. It forced the Stamps to adjust back to more agressive man coverage at the half.

The Riders would easily be .500 with Bagg and Fantuz in the lineup, and a contender with Durant playing well and Congi back from injury. Cleremont hasn't been good since his BC days and Riders fans only seem to remember Getzlaf's great games against the Stamps last year and pegged him as a decent starter. His case of the dropsies really got overshadowed when he was the 4th/5th favorite target. I think anything to shore up recieving can do nothing but help Durant's confidence. But they will have to get better fast because if they lose much more ground then 3rd place and avoiding a crossover might end up being the team's ultimate goal this year.

Interesting tweet from Ken Miller tonight:

Brendan has had several conversations with a QB on our negotiation list, so we may have one more new face before long.
Riders really looking to make room for their NFL cuts and possibly a new QB. Any ideas on who the QB might be?

Russell Wilson who is in the Colorado Rockies farm system must have a week off and is headed North to Regina?

Kevin Eiben is done for the year with a torn pectoral.

Starting the 3rd qtr. I think they had 3 yards rushing but based on these stats, they finish at -1 yards on the ground.

The one rule that really bugs me is pass interference, be it offensive or defensive. Really it should be called the same either way. Once the ball is in the air any player has a shot at it. No player should be able to impede another player in going after the ball. I wish the CFL would really crackdown on this and start calling offensive pass interference calls with way more frequency. Either that or stop calling the weak defensive pass interference calls. I know many may not agree with me ad the league is an offensive league and people want to see high scores but this is something that has really got on my nerves lately. Maybe it's the old defensive back in me coming out. But when the ball is up for grabs, I really feel that the same set of rules should govern both receiver and DB as opposed to this bias towards the offense that exists now.

'Best' fans in the CFL!

“On the way over here this morning, I saw one Roughrider jersey,” he said of the staple garment in every Saskatchewan wardrobe. “Normally, you see five or six of them on the way in. So it’s definitely dying out a little bit.”
The customary hero worship in Regina has turned into something else entirely.
“I actually had one teammate say he got a couple dirty looks when he was out for dinner the other night,” Frazier said. “The looks were there.
“And another teammate. Normally we get a 20 per cent discount at a particular restaurant. He asked the lady, how much is the discount? She told him, ‘you’re not getting your 20 per cent discount anymore. Only 10 per cent. ’

Hey at least the players get recognized. In Calgary the players see no jerseys and get dirty looks for a different reason with no discount.

BC Lions is just brutal team this season. I am a big fan of Wally Buono but another lost or two he might be done as the Lions head coach. I was actually cheering for the Lions vs Winnipeg so they move ahead of the Riders. Not sure what is wrong with this team. Is it time for Travis Lulay to sit and put Jackson in?

Winnipeg 30 BC Lions 10 in the 4th quarter.

yea BC has been brutal. at first it looked like they just needed some time to gel but it's just not working there. no team chemistry, no discipline. Bombers on the other hand are dominating on defence and playing decent on offence. although the hamilton toronto game was much much more exciting. it's good to see 3 good teams in the east this year.
bc, toronto and sask all tied with one win. haha

Boy that was a pretty embarrassing game tonight for the Lions. Poor execution and really disorganized. Hopefully Wally retires at the end of this season as good as he's been over the years he's not the coach he used to be.
