Hey guys,
So just today the mouse just started acting up. Moving at a very slow and erratic pace. Making my hit the button 3-4 times to actually click on a file. And overall, acting very VERY funky.
It is a wireless Logitech mouse...and does this kinda thing happen and am I being too nitpicky with my mouse??

Is it optical?
Might just need a good cleaning.

Strange sound errors
Im getting a strange feedback/distortion in games, not usually when playing Mp3s. For example, when I start up NHL, the "E-A sports.. its in the game" sounds kinda crackly and staticy at the same time.
-Not a physical problem, headphones get the same thing as speakers
-Not a sound card problem, I swapped out my old audio card and got the same thing
-Updated to the latest sound drivers
-Motherboard drivers are up to date
This problem, interestingly enough, only seems to occur after certain reboots. If I get the problem, a reboot almost always fixes it. Yet the next time I reboot it might and often comes back. Anyone have any ideas on whats up?
I also should note I recently installed a new motherboard, an Asus A8v. I formatted and installed all necessary software. Im running a AMD64 3200 with a gig of dual channel RAM

Flat out guess here, but my first guess would be a problem with Direct X. You could try drunning "dxdiag" (under Start - Run) or just re-install the latest Direct X.
My next guess would be some sort of On-Access Anti-Virus protection. You may want to (temporarily) disable your av and see if the issue goes away.

Little late....
But I'm actually having the opposite problem. My mouse is the logitech MX700. Whenever I click the left mouse button, windows thinks I'm double clicking. Holding down the button will result in windows thinking I let go of it, and pressed it again when in fact I didn't let go. Cursor movement is fine though. It's at the point where I can't drag windows, use photoshop, or do any drafting.
Has anyone RMA'd their logitech stuff before? I think I'm just out of warranty. Hmmmm... on second though, I'll probably have to buy a new one.

check your mouse settings before you RMA it... it may have just had some of the settings switched.

Nope, not that. Not much for settings anyways.
I have tried with and without the logitech software, 3 different computers, and on newly formatted computers. Still behaves the same. Hardware for sure.

RMAing isn't a big deal with logitech just call before hand and they might send you one before have to send it in.

Anybody know any tricks for reviving a Word file that is not responding without losing any data? I have a huge project I'm working on and I cut a small line of text and it locked the program up tight. Like the moron that I am, I haven't saved the file since about 5 minutes into the damn thing. I'm in big trouble if I can't save it! Any help would be much appreciated.

Guess who didn't have autosave activated in word?
Man, this is devastating. There's no way I can start over and finish it in time.

Cheese, your wrong! There IS a God!
I couldn't find the back-up file or the autosave file when I did a complete search of my system. So I gave up and Ctrl-alt-del shutdown of my word file happened.
I reopen word and lo and behold there it is with only a paragraph missing from where I was when it froze! THANK YOU DION!
Thanks for the link Rico. It helped me!

This EXACT thing happened with my MX1000. I called up logitech and they sent me a new mouse. It was still within a year when I did it. They didn't even make me send the old mouse back. I found a program somewhere that fixed the double click problem for me by making windows ignore extremely rapid double clicks, but I can't remember where and I've since formatted my computer. If I run across it again, I'll let you know.
