Felix guts out a tough win today 7-5 2-6 7-6(4). That Cazaux kid is the real deal, put him right there with Fils and Van Assche, he's that good.

He's still French

Pretty good match between Shevchenko and Bublik just ended with Bublik rallying from a set down to win in three sets. He awaits the winner of Felix vs. the French wildcard Mayot which will be on court shortly.

Very scrappy play from Felix today, the fortunate thing is that Mayot is just as acrappy.
Edit: Not a great level of tennis from FAA in set 1, but he breaks late to take set 1 7-5

Early break for Felix in set 2 - Time to put the hammer down. The French crowd has turned very quiet in a hurry.
Edit: Wasn't an easy consolidation, but consolidation was achieved.

Set 2 was much better from Felix, still a little scrappy and a few too many unforced errors for my liking, but he delivered a French baguette to his opponent in that second set. Into the semi-finals to take on Bublik on Saturday.

Vasek comes back from 2-4 down in the opening set to take set 1 6-4. Anything is Pospisil!!
Edit; Canada up 2-0 after day 1 as Vasek closes it out in straight sets.

Going to a 3rd set as one leaky service game from Felix gave Bublik all he needed to take set 2 6-4

Felix loses a 16 minutes service game. He saved four break points, but also tossed in 3 double faults in that game. You just can't do that at this level.

Felix breaks back with a strong return game. Let's go.
Edit: Felix gets broken again. Shaky groundies from both wings.

Sigh, another promising run for Felix ends because his wonky serve fails him once again at crucial times. 9 aces to 6 double faults as compared to Bublik hitting 14 aces to 4 double faults today, that was essentially the difference.

Korea cuts the Canadian lead to 2-1 as they take the opening doubles match on day 2. Really impressive tennis from the Koreans, Vasek and Alexis played well, but the Koreans were just a little bit better.
