A single bigger body isn't going to fix that lol.

Good job to the Flames for countering the Kings' end period momentum with their own.

You're not supposed to be able to score by shovelling the goalie's pad into the net, if the puck is sitting against it. Countless examples of that being called off.

that was a major screw job by the nhl (this is what we should be expecting at this point) but if the flames want to make the playoffs they have to overcome something like that. kings have carried the play since, flames' 4th line probably has been their best in the 2nd half of the period.

and get brouwer off the 1st pp/bennett's wing ffs

no, but it wasn't even possible for Elliot to kick out his leg to the post with the LA player pushing his pad towards the middle...

i think it was a terrible call... with post rationalization, not reasoning

Flames forwards have to be better, and the Versteeg/Brouwer experiment on the first PP unit can end...

Flames let the Kings dictate/cycle for the most part after that absolutely atrocious call.

That would throw me off mentally too. Too bad this crap happens to us so often.

Just gotta rebound like the past 3 games. They can do it. Take the intermission to regroup and come back in focused.

But Flames need to move the puck better and start to dictate with their speed. Kings will be happy to play clog up the zones/boards all night long. We can't let them!

I'm told by people with the Flames that Deryk Engelland 's stick was deemed the one that pushed Elliott's pad into the net. Hence the goal.

I don't watch a lot of Flames games but I really noticed Gaudreau cheating a lot. He doesn't seem to help out defensively and always breaks out early before the Flames even have possession hoping for the breakout pass.

That Kings goal was obvious goalie interference -- Wideman effect continues.

that literally contradicts what Hrudey said so the league is just making #### up.

I fully believe in the Wideman conspiracy, but I'm not seeing this goal being the wrong call. The puck was loosen, Elliott didn't cover it or pull up to the post, and the Flames dman let them sack away. We'd be mad as hell if they didn't count that for us.

Great start to the period, but that goal completely changed the momentum. Kings are starting to take over now and we're losing a lot of board battles. Flames are gonna have to come out hard in the 2nd if they want to get back into this.

If that stupid bulls--t goal stands up as the game winner, I'm gonna be pissed.

I still think they've got this one. They didn't lose it in the first. They are only down one PP goal. There is room out there for the Monahan line, 3M line pretty suffocated. Stajan / Bouma again making space, would be nice to see a 4th line goal tonight!
