No, I don't think that. I tend to agree that the product was pretty lousy. It definitely isn't what I would call a showcase game anyway.

Edit: I didn't actually watch it, just going on comments and the fact the score was 17 to 12.

Shore 1 assist -5

end of the 2nd period

score is West 10 - East 8

Poirier just scored an easy one with a beautiful feed from Shore.

After the ensuing faceoff, Shore almost scores.

Okay so after watching the AHL All-Star game, I realized what the NHL has to do to make theirs more intense.

What is it that makes the AHL guys go a little bit harder? Incentive! The AHL guys all want to make the NHL. And I realized that's it! That's what the NHL All-Stars need-some kind of NHL incentive. And what better incentive than the threat of NO LONGER playing for an NHL team?

Therefore, here are my top three incentives for the NHL All-Star game going forward- guaranteed to increase the intensity!

(1) Grant the winning team's goalie a lifetime contract guaranteeing that he will never have to honour a trade to or contract from the Edmonton Oilers ever.

(2) Grant the game's game-winning goal scorer the same exemption as above, only adding that none of his children, or their children, or their children's children, will ever be allowed to be drafted by the Edmonton Oilers.

(3) Select one player at random from the losing team and force him to sign a three year deal with the Edmonton Oilers immediately following the game.

Bonus: in the unlikely event that an Edmonton Oilers player makes the All-Star game, grant him an immediate trade request to a team of his choosing should the All-Star team he's playing for win.

Thoughts?
