Nm. Flames hockey is not entertaining at least for now. I wish the $17.5 million dead weight would be gone by the end of April.

The dead weight that accounted for 10 out of 32 shots tonight? Or 2 out of 2 goals? How would adding another $17.5 million to the $25.8 million in current cap space help the team?

I'd rather have the dead weight now, when it doesnt matter than later when this team is set to compete.
I know we lament dropping out of a playoff spot, but that was a fever dream to begin with, it was nice and all while it lasted, but this team shouldnt be anywhere near the playoff discussion.

That's 7 straight losses on the road now by my count.
They just can't will victories. At some point, the lack of talent becomes apparent, and this team is obviously suffering from that. That's ok - this is a rebuild, even if the Flames refuse to acknowledge it outright. The glaring cap space and the accumulated futures in the bank show us that, and honestly, there is no more arguing against the notion that a rebuild is the only way forward here left. This isn't (and won't be) scorched earth, but this is a multi-season rebuild, and that's ok.
Flames are going to look amazing with a starting lineup to open the new building:
McKenna - McQueen/Misa - Honzek (or take your pick)
Parekh (righty, I know) - Dupont
Wolf
/Dream
In all seriousness, the Flames draft well, so this not only gives me hope, but assures me that losses like tonight's won't be for naught. Look for ways to enjoy the action during these losses, or it is going to feel like a terribly long season. Most of the losses have still been fun to watch (at least for part or moments of every game).

They certainly arent bottom 3 of the NHL bad.
They are in an epic offensive drought right now that will see a correction to some degree.
The goaltending has kind of regressed at the same time to make it seem like they are among the worst in the game, but both wont last forever.

We don't score a lot because we do not have a lot of talent. We have zero first line forwards.
Zary is a good 2nd liner and probably our most talented. Kadri is a 2nd liner on a good team. Huberdeau is a healthy scratch on a good team. The rest are somewhere between 2nd and 4th liners.

Your healthy scratch and second liner were the only offence tonight.

In a game that was already over at that point.

Scoring meaningless goal at the end of the third period did not mean anything. These two should be impact players leading the team, and they have not been so in the last few games.

That's the sad point.
Our only offense tonight was curtesy of two players who certainly don't fit into the team when we next contend.
Better to have the goals coming from Coronato.

So what? They were still the only players that scored. The “non dead weight” players did less.

Yeah, but they didn’t. Posters should complain about Coronato then, not the guys who scored.

They only show up to play when the pressure is off. That's what.

And the rest don’t show up at all?
