I love going to Smugglers. I start with a bowl (usually two) of Steak soup and then get the Cajun Blackened New York Steak (usually with a twice baked potato)

Couldnt agree more.
Food was way better, drinks better (ie chill towers/beer selection and not some wanna be specialty caesar house) & the service/servers were better!

That replacement of Olives was ok.... im so tempted to try the $100 burger just to say I ate a $100 burger in my lifetime however the description doesnt even slightly tempt me.... Ill save my once in a lifetime stupid dining purchase on something else.

This is a little off topic, but I didn't want to start a new thread for it. There seems to be a little "European Deli"/meat/cheese shop on Kensington Road in the same building as Kensington Wine Market. I've driven by it three times and I've never been able to see a name to look into it.

Have any of you Latte-Sippers been to that place yet or know what its proper name is?

edit: just to clarify, it doesn't appear to be Malicher in that wood cabin looking house, unless they moved?

Yeah, I looked on there a while back, but there's nothing that stands out as the right place. It should be on the 1200 block odds, but it's not Niko's Bistro.

+1 for the River Cafe. I was upset at the damage they had after the floods and have been meaning to get there since they re-opened. Great food with some interesting twists

Thanks for the comment, I was at their other location for 5 years and it's where I started both my career and passion for food.

I'll have a look next time I'm down there.

I don't think you are talking about this place on the other side of the street:

So for the fellow Yop Gobblers in the south, had dinner at Toscana Italian Grill tonight (Heritage & Macleod) and it was pretty decent meal. Everything we had was perfectly prepared and the service was attentive. It is definitely a step up from something like Chiantis or Fiore's, but not overly stuffy either. Didn't hurt the wallet too much either.

Their branding/marketing had me convinced it was going to be a little more casual than it was, definitely not a bad choice for a date.

I'd give it a solid 8/10 and I wouldn't hesitate to return.
