Freaky I lived on Hunterhaven Road and I yes I remember that. Then moved to Dalhousie and the Ranchlands were, well, ranchland. LOL.

Yeah, we later moved to Edgemont when it was at the edge of the city.

Sorry if it has been said already
- When you defend the grid system our city is organized by (NW, SW, NE, SE) from people (Edmonton people) that say it's confusing. I still have a hard time here in Edmonton especially with 90% of the city is designated "NW"

Across the street was a farm -- I can do better than that. I lived in Vista Heights as a kid. It was bought from a farmer and his farmhouse was right in the middle of the complex. There were farms north to the Airport, East and heck even West (there was no Deerfoot and there were farms right up to Elks golf club. You could go down to the Zoo and just walk right in --no charge.

Done that a few times.
related:
When you can give an address without mentioning the quadrant, and expect everyone knows where you are talking about.
"Yeah, it's at the corner of 16th Ave and 14th Street."

What the hell is that supposed to mean? That this city only cares about hockey? That may be true as a generalization, but there are plenty of CFL fans around.

Believe me, that's not just native to Calgary. I couldn't believe how much drinks were costing me on Whyte Ave last weekend up here in Edmonton. And my trip to Seattle last summer? Forget about it...

Agreed. Sitting at McMahon on a warm July evening with a slight breeze, while looking at downtown and the mountains and suckin back a Molson, where down below Burris is throwin out bombs...I'd take that over alot of Flames games(depending on the seating and the opponent).

And when you try to explain that these clouds were not storm clouds, that it really was a very warm day.

The outnumbering of guys to girls is still the same in this city when in a club. In fact, it has gotten worse in the last 5 years or so.
I remember the 1 dollar highballs, sometimes 50 cents on Electric Ave, when this city had an actual club district, unlike now(boooring nightlife).

Or the $20 wristband at Cocktails and Dreams, and you get all the drinks you could hold down.
