Some observations early this week...
Just saw Trent Green getting rolled off the field on a stretcher after taking a knee to the side of the head...did not look good and hope it is just precautionary. With what happened to him last year this is scary though.
The Saints look better than they have all year and for the Panthers they may be in trouble as David Carr was just hurt and carted off the field with what looked like a back injury. With Delhomme already on the shelf it looks like they may have to go to their 3rd stringer Matt Moore who has never taken a snap in the NFL.
The Pats are going to roll over the Browns...no surprise there.
I picked Tenn in the survivor pool and they promptly give up a 55 yd fumble return for a TD. Gulp.

Trent Green looks like his career is over. Suffered another huge concussion today. At his age its time to hang the cleats up. After this concussion he could get into long term damage.

Not a better guy in the league either. Class act all the way. I wish the best for him. Hope he's ok.

Is anyone catching any of the Saints Panters game? Why in the world are they using these rediculous camera angels?

Anyone know the record for kickoff returns for a TD in one season as a league?
Seems like there have been 20 already in the first 5 weeks!

I've got Chiefs/Jags. Great defense. If the Chiefs could run the ball they'd be golden.
LJ has 12 yards.

Its the Superdome....arent these always the angles? (meaning because the cameras are so far from the field in that stadium)

No like if the ball is at the thirty, they use a camera on the 20 yardline. And it's not because the regular camera isn't there because when the ball is at the 25 they use the 50 yd camera.

I have watched a lot of bad Detroit Lions football over the years but this may be worst I have seen them play. The defense has been awful, letting a horrible Jason Campbell complete passes at will. Junior high school teams in Lethbridge could hold Campbell to under 100 yards and less than 50% completion percentage, but the Lions seem content to let him do what he likes.
The offensive line has played pathetic as well. Kitna has had no time at all and has had no ability to avoid any Redskin that comes within ten feet of him. PLaying behind this porous line it would be nice if he could not fall down any time a Redskin looks at him.
Maybe this is just my frustration because the Lions actual are decent this year and unlike other years I expect them to win games, but this was a brutal lose against a pretty mediocore team in the Redskins and it pisses me off!

Kris Brown has 5 field goals for Houston today, including kicks of 57, 54 and 54 yards.

Well I know the Chiefs are not a very good team this year, but I have to think that Jacksonville has to be a potential wild card team in the AFC. Going into Invesco and Arrowhead and coming away with wins is never a very easy task. That and I don't really see anyone else in the AFC who won't win their division who looks much better. The AFC South is a pretty tough division though so it would be tough to have 3 teams emerge from there to be in the playoffs. Still I think Tennesse and Jacksonville would be my quarterly picks from the AFC to win wild card berths, even with that division being what it is.
As for the Pats...if they can beat the Colts they have a very realisitic shot at being a 16-0 team. The Colts are a good team, but I think they'll face a lot of challenges inside their own division and that will eventually cost them a loss somewhere. Still I think the Pats and Colts are a step above every other team in the NFL.

I know the point of the NFL is to win the game, but this was another typically bad game played by Vince Young that people will look back and say what a QB the Titans won the game.
He threw for 157 yards and 3 INT's. Did nothing but hurt his team and the Titans are able to overcome his play because they are playing the Falcons.
It is a typical performance from Young and still we will have to hear what a great QB this guy is, "really playing wellfor a second year guy."
He is a bad passer, good runner who has got a lot of help form his teams defense and special teams in hi young career. Lets wait before annointing him the next great QB.

@ the Giants might be a loss if the Patroits already have their spot in the play-offs locked up, which they will if they go 15-0, and the GIants are fighting for a Wildcard or their divison.
I can't see Belichek playing Brady, Moss and the others playing a ton in that case.
16-0 and the possiblity of 19-0 is cool but playing in the play-offs agaisnt Indy, Pittsburgh, Dallas etc. with Matt Cassel as the QB doesn't sound like a solid way to get to 19-0.

Must be lonely for Jay since he is the only Bronco who showed up to play today.

I actually think he is one of the better young QB's in the entire NFL. Not sure how he is "horriblr" unless compared to the Manning, Brady and Favres of the world. In that case...most all of the rest are bad.

The Henry thing looks like it may of been a distraction for them this week...just not focussed and clearly no intensity in ay facet of the game thus far. brutal start.

Yes God is not a dolphin fan. Figures that even kickers have there best game against the weakest team in the league.
Most importantly I can't wait for NE to come to Miami in week 7.
NE will be 6-0 and miami will be 0-6. NE will win by 80.
Not only is Miami so bad so is the rest of the AFC East. NE should have the division by week 9.

His stats are in the bottom five for all of the key stats for QBs and last in completion %.
He has a good arm and may turn out to be decent in the future but at this point in his career he still has a long way to go to be a good starter.

Ya I watched the entire thing, and am about to drown myself in Thanksgiving dinner to forget about it. I miss yesterday, when I could still blame the majority of the Saints offensive woes on the OL. Well they played pretty solid today, and New Orleans still couldnt do anything. Brees with time missing wide open receivers...WR's(mostly Devery) dropping catchable balls...this team's a mess. btw when did the Panthers turn into this much of a disaster? They did everything they could to give that game away. That was too bad football teams at the Superdome today.
The lone bright spot was the play of Bush in his first NFL start(though he wasnt amazing). Ran between the tackles well(mostly in the first half), and received a heavy load of the offence. The way the Saints were riding him today reminds me of the way theyd ride Deuce in 2003, when he was either always running it or getting receptions out of the backfield. The only problem is, Reggie isnt near what 2003 Deuce was. Bush isnt at the point in his career yet where you can just ride him all day and hope it results in a victory, ala LT. This team is in big trouble...
