That fake crowd noise sounds like the Superbowl.

The virtual fans on the screens are pretty interesting. I kind of wish the NHL could do something similar. It would be an interesting experience as a fan.

Anyone watching Houston-Dallas? It's social distancing defense out there. It's 75-85 AT THE HALF! Harden played the entire 1st half and has 4 fouls.

Yeah it’s playground basketball. Without any home court advantage at stake, these regular season games are pretty free and easy for most of the teams.
I’m finding it entertaining. NBA putting on a show.

What is it, exactly? NBC has fans at home form their webcams on the screens at Scotiabank. Not sure if superimposed.
Edit: Oh yeah I see what you're talking about now. Yeah that's better than what NBC is doing.

Very important win for the Raptors against Lebron tonight. A great way to build some confidence and start strong.

Jonathan Isaac out with a suspected ACL tear. Non-contact injury, same leg that he had injured earlier causing him to miss the last 10 weeks of the regular season. Second game back, on a heavy minutes restriction.
Sucks for him and the Magic. They could have made one of the top seeds sweat with a fully healthy roster.

Another solid win for the Raptors this afternoon. From my understanding, the only way Celtics can catch up now is:
Bos goes 6-0, Tor goes 2-4
Bos goes 5-1, Tor goes 1-5
Bos goes 4-2, Tor goes 0-6
I feel pretty confident the Raptors can win at least 2 out of their remaining 6.

Solid win, and with the physical play that Miami has, I'm just glad that we got through without injury. They're always going to be a tough matchup for Toronto and I hate playing them. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they finish in the 4/5 seed position.

When does the NBA playoffs begin? What was the point of the continuation of the regular season?

Playoffs begin August 17. Reason for continuing the regular season was basically because there were a 5 teams in the West who were outside the playoffs and had a realistic shot of making the playoffs, and the league wanted to give them enough games to have an honest shot of making it (and because one of those teams just out of the playoffs has ratings-juggernaut Zion Williamson, who the NBA would really love to see make the playoffs... and whose team just happened to get the easiest schedule of any team in the restart).
Because there's no meaningful home-court advantage, the top teams don't care a lot about the seeding implications, but it does give the teams a bit of a chance to manage minutes and ramp players up rather than just having them go from scrimmage basketball straight to playoff basketball.

Simmons has a patellar dislocation, and will miss some time... not sure how much yet. The Sixers can afford to rest him until the playoffs, and he could be ready to go by then, but could miss the first round. Hell, Sixers would probably prefer to rest him and stay in 6th spot in the East and avoid a potential second-round matchup against Milwaukee.

Raptors about to beat Memphis. They've looked unreal since the restart. Here's hoping they go back to back this year. Very solid team.

Raptors clinch second in the East! Great way to clinch after they were given the most difficult schedule for this restart.
