I think dragging out this final season was dumb, but this is a pretty hype final trailer.
What are they even fighting for at this point? A $30 trophy from Dick's Sporting Goods? Maybe a coupon for frozen yogurt?
They seem to be taking this whole thing preposterously seriously.
You want to learn Karate? Cool. Theres a Dojo on every block of California apparently, just pick one. I've got a business to run and a family to take care of.
Blood Feuds to the Death? Sorry...I'm a grown-up. We dont do that anymore. If you'll excuse me I have to pay my Property Taxes.

If you thought this season would have a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention.
Yeah early on you could buy into the KIDS going from bullied to bully, taking it too seriously and accidentally hurting each other and balancing that against achieving actual athletic excellence. Then it got into this "control of karate in the valley/world" nonsense where the adults couldn't get through one conversation without some bad karate, when IMO it could have very easily steered into college/Olypmic athletics and professional fighting drama of which there exists TONS.
If they want to stay silly I will continue to go to bat for them becoming the Power Rangers. Would watch that for sure.

Yeah, it just became this whole thing of:
"The stakes have grow outrageously high without the inclusion of law enforcement."
Now...lets just dial this thing up to 11 and get Eric Roberts in there as Alex Grady who schools the whole damned lot of them!
Yes...let the madness flow through you!!!

I'll watch the last few episodes just because I've already put in my time watching it all up to today. But man it's pretty bad. Hopefully the last 5 are at least ok.
And finished, lots of cheese, a couple of what the F moments. Some satisfying character resolutions, and some not so.
Overall it was a fun and cheesy salute back to the 80's cheese, In the end the best characters ends are the ones that you really didn't see coming in season 1.

Watched the first episode of the last season and can't help but think this series should have ended a couple of seasons ago. It's weird watching out of shape actors in their late 20s playing high school students and top end karate students.

I think it's hilarious. These aren't actors from the Christian Bale or Brendan Fraser school. Yes, the show should have ended when it ran out of ideas and a reason to exist, but it didn't, so we are well into the negative worlds of vaguely recognizable entertainment.
I think they went way overboard in the last 5 episodes with the whole big speech moments.
I mean its funny not one coaching session during the time outs was about karate strategy it was all big emotional speeches. It was the hallmark card of TV

2 episodes in and I'm enjoying the hell out of this. This entire series has been such a joyful, goofy ride and a wonderful distraction from all the horrible bulls*** going on in the world these days. This show just puts a giant smile on my face every time I watch it.
I'll spoiler my final thoughts because the word isn't in the title of this thread for some reason.
Spoiler!
It coming full circle for Johnny was an awesome way to end it.
For some reason it took me by surprise to, despite the show starting out with just him and being called Cobra Kai lol.
I dunno, some people call this show a guilty pleasure, but to me I see guys who are completely passionate about the fictional world and its characters putting it all on the line, to the best of their abilities, and providing a very highly entertaining product that just tugs on those nostalgia strings.
I also loved this show from start to finish. Right down to the Rocky Montage at the very end. So well done.

I agree with every part of that. Thought the Johnny arc was perfection.

Binged the final episodes last night and loved the way they ended it all. I do think the first three seasons were absolutely brilliant then the show fell off pretty significantly after that, but they found a way to tie it all together and give it a pretty satisfying conclusion. It's way beyond cheesy and ridiculous, but that's also what makes it great.
Cobra Kai Never Dies!
