In general thought the flames played with good effort but couldn't coral the puck or receive passes. So generaly sloppy play.

But the effort is there and the talent is there. We just have to hang in until everyone starts clicking. If we can come out of the first 10 4-4-2 I think we're in good shape.

I know it's been said, but man... that zone entry on the PP is the worst. I've seen coaches in Novice show up to practice after a long day at the office and figure out something better off the top of their heads! It's hard to believe this is the best an NHL coaching staff can come up with after spending 16 hours a day at the rink studying video.

The ice was terrible once again. The Flames should honestly be fined for the crap ice they make these players play on.

Puck was bouncing all over the place like a tennis ball and it doesn't seem the Flames care enough to fix it. I'd honestly be in favor of fines for teams who have ice as bad as the Flames do. We live in a cool climate, there is zero excuse for ice this bad. We shouldn't have to wait for a new arena to have good ice.

Got real excited after this game and found some row 3 seats for Thursday that fit in our university student budgets. Never sat anywhere near that close to the ice before. So stoked

Was at the game. Very happy with the win. Ferland was our best player all night imo and deserved a star.

My only major sticking point was Versteg on the point on the Power play. Just sat his ass on the blue line the whole shift and watched everyone skate back and forth. Either this is a major issue in the system or he thinks that his d partner should do all of the work. I was far from impressed with him on that sequence.

What's the story with the new goal song?

I saw somebody post something about it being a suggestion from Warrener last week?

Yeah something like that.

They had Busta as artist of the day and I think they were joking about playing him on all Jays playoff days or something, since they have a habit of repeating artists out of superstition or whatever.

Then the convo shifted to it being suggested that that song would make a good goal song. Sure enough at the next game it was the goal song. I think this was during the preseason.

I could be wrong. I was only half listening to the radio that morning.

It's no "Let Me Clear My Throat" like Buffalo has, but it works.

Something unique at least compared to the rest of the league.

I still have bad vibes from Chris Drury playing the point on the powerplay and he was a way better/smarter player.

Versteeg should not be on the point.

Pretty damn good if you ask me.

We had 20 giveaways and are 1/16 on the PP, plus still learning the systems.

Lots of room to improve still.

Kinda goofy to say it considering his old man and all, but he's the closest thing to Gary Roberts the Flames have had since Gary Roberts, and that's a hell of a thing.

Interesting (at least to me): Gary Roberts and Keith Tkachuk never got in a fight. You'd think that would have just happened somewhere along the way.

EDIT: well, I guess Jarome was cut from the same cloth, but someone had to do something to him to make him be mean.

I missed the game tonight (was at the jays game). Based on the highlights Tkachuk looked dominant, goal and some bit hits. Can anybody break down his game tonight for me?
