Krispy Kreme is dirt cheap though. $16 for a dozen. Can't get fresh donuts that cheaply anywhere else.

CFM South has a rotisserie chicken vendor. Always smells amazing.

They are great for the price but they are oddly greasy and fatty.

The bag doesn't always seal properly leading to leaks.

I always place some paper towels on a cutting board before removing the bird from the bag. Soaks up a lot of the grease. Plus I remove all the skin.

The best part of a rotisserie chicken should be the skin though.

You take the skin off a rotisserie chicken? Why would you buy a rotisserie chicken, then?

Mary Browns has really upped their chicken in the last year or so (unless it's just the locations I've been, too). They started out kind of soggy, even a little greasy. The last few times in the last year it's been super crispy and tasty with no sogginess. It's my go to now for sure.
Glad that happened as Popeyes was the only fast food chicken I liked before that and I found it kind of dry and bland most times.

Yeah that makes sense. It’s around the top of the category, but I would agree this isn’t exactly a great category to begin with.

I feel, maybe incorrectly, that when they used the plastic containers, the chicken was crispier and the bottom had some ridges so it kept the chicken from just sitting in the juices.

I specifically bought fried chicken skin when that restaurant in Kensington was serving it.

It feels like KFC was a lot better a long time ago, but I might just be getting old. I do enjoy the sauces at Popeye’s, but their chicken is just ok. Maybe time to give Mary Brown’s another shot.

Try the new one on McLeod south of Chinook if that's anywhere near you.

For the chicken itself
Also I'm trying to lose weight and keep Type 2 Diabetes off my doorstep. My A1C numbers were 6.8 last February and my last 2 tests have been down to 6.2 and 6.3. So far it's working
