Another thing about Rodgers, he played almost half the season with a bum shoulder as well. He played through pain. Its different when your a backup. They hold you out for precautionary reasons. Other than when he broke his foot, I bet you he would have started. "Aaron Rodgers being made of glass" comments are a little overdone.

The pack will, and should, have very little problem running the ball. Last year they go to be an ok running team, but started out very poorly becuase Grant held out of training camp, and then injuried himself overwokring to get back into shape. Packers also don't have great depth behind Grant, althought thats looking much better this year.
The biggest quesion for the Packers is not the O line or the offence. they ahve a top 5-8 offence in the league IMO. Its all on their defence. How quickly can their players adapt to the 3-4 and execute it, and thats what going to decide the Packers season. But becuase I have alot of faith in Dom Capers and the staff he put together, i think the packers are a definet contender in the NFC North.

I admit that the 'mad of glass comment' was a little unfair. I forgot he started 16 games last year. I don't follow the 'norris' division closely anymore since my bay (tampa) left in the realignment. I am also bias because i remember the size concerns about him (and the Jeff Tedford qb connection) in the draft. I was at the first Brett Farve 'last MNF game ever?' in Baltimore December 2005 and it may have been Rodgers first NFL game action. He was injured and out of the game on the first or second series when he got into the game, but it did not matter because both teams sucked that year and the game was meaningless (other then the Brett Farve dramatics).

The NFC North will be an interesting division this year because every team has had some off season drama or questions on the field to answer. Add in this whole 'Farve to the Vikes' stuff and the 'norris' should be a good division to keep and eye on. I think it could end up with a wildcard team or look like the NFC West of the past few years.

On a completely unrelated note, Pat White is a player I like to watch. As was noted on the broadcast he is slow back from centre because in college he took 90% of snaps from shotgun. He can learn the pro footwork I think because he seems to be a good enough athlete. Maybe he is why the Mountaineers had such a good run the last few years? Rich Rodriguez sure could have used him in Michigan last year.

The Saints have finally cut Jason David after he gave up another big play against Cincy in the preseason opener. It looks like Derrick Brooks may be a Saint by the weekend as Mark Simoneau had to go on IR.

Favre Expected To Sign With Vikings Today

Favre is on currently on his way to Minneapolis and is expected to sign with the team this afternoon, the source said.

WCCO-TV spoke with an official at the Hattiesburg, Miss., airport, who saw an airplane with the Vikings logo leave the airport Tuesday morning. The flight number for that plane has been blocked from tracking systems.

I mean this in the most humane way possible, but I kinda hope that plane crashes. Funny how he's ready to sign as soon as training camp ends. I knew it. He wants to play, he's just a lazy f*****.

Farve never liked training camp and was never one to work out much as he's relied on his natural abilities which is why I think this will end up in dissappointing fashion much like last year. Similar senario in that you have a coach on the hot seat and an owner that wants to win now. Bring in a late 30/40 year old HOF QB and cross your fingers he still has something left in the tank. IMO it will end up the same. Dissappointing results and the coach being fired remove Mangenious and add Childress into the firing seat. The difference is that the Vikings are a better team and will most likely make the playoffs but they will lost their first playoff game much like last year.

People like to look at the Jets 8-3 start and say that he was great before the injury but he wasn't. He was still throwing some ugly balls. Does anyone remember I believe in the first or second week that ugly wabbly duck that he lobbed up in the end zone that turned into a totally fluke TD catch? It was a terrible decision but he got lucky. Terrible decisions is what Brett Farve is all about and now that he's a step slower and has less velocity on his ball, disaster will always be a pass away. Childress runs a west coast offence which has never been Farve's game as well. The Vikings have an excellent defense and possibly the best running game in the league. They don't need a gunslinger that's going to turn over the ball 20 times. All they needed was an efficient passer that could avoid turnovers. They would go farther with Jeff Garcia than Brett Farve IMO.

Ummm, what?! Bevell was his former QB coach in Green Bay. The Vikings pretty much morphed the playbook to make if more Favre friendly.

I always thought that Farve’s most successful years were under the original west coast disciple Mike Holmgren?

So people seem to think the Vikings will be the team to beat in the NFC now. That may be the case, but does Farve have WR's to throw to?

This guy is THE diva of the NFL. Bitches and moans about how sore his arm is and how he's "done" just to get out of busting his ass in training camp. No integrity or work ethic at all, and this just further diminishes what was once a stellar career.

Childress and Wilf should be embarassed with the way they've basically caved to every one of his demands. They look incredibly pathetic, and it's pretty much a slap in the face to guys like Jared Allen who come in and work their asses of 365 days a year to play for the team. The Vikings are going to have major leadership and chemistry issues this year.

John David Booty should have made a big deal about giving up #4, that would have made my day.

I think its good to see players get defensive like that occasionally. You can tell he loved being a Viking, and still cares about the direction of the franchise and how the players are treated.

He certainly had some valid points.
