Yoho and guys like him? No stress. They give you nothing. The guys that think they’re standing against some righteous internet mob that has singled them out or follows them around? Absolutely insane, every single one of them (to significantly different degrees).

That’s why people really have to have fun with it and do as btimbit said: pretend we’re just friends talking. If someone gives you a little funny jab, laugh at yourself and give one back. Still thinking about the conversations we had on here about COVID? I dunno… maybe pick up a hobby? We’re bound to disagree (you and I sure have) and take convos into the absurd, but at the end of the day it doesn’t matter.

With all the history of run-ins with the generally good people here (which in restrospect felt childish) I've taken away from it that you have to make the forum experience fun for yourself and be mindful not cross over the line into too heavy, otherwise you end up killing the fun for everyone involved, and nobody benefits in that situation.

I know I did that for us both. I probably should have just laughed it off and taken the lumps when I had them coming. It's really nothing to sweat over. It's just a forum. Just kick back and shoot the #### with this community that shares a common interest with you.

I find the delusional loonies who staunchly engage and defend to be amusing, because of the impressive lack of self awareness in what they respond with. I'm also curious about how deep the delusion runs, which is why I test them. Maybe I need a new hobby..

I believe it was the late 2,000's. IIRC people complained that those handing out the squares were biased. A blue square meant you were a bad poster and nobody wanted them.

I also can't help but chuckle at this given that it sounds like no one has had any real back and forth with him/her/it to determine whether there is much measurable thought involved in its posting, let alone any shade of "faith".

The community has crumbled at the hands of what could very well be a spambot, based entirely on far-reaching hunches about an mysterious, enigmatic entity of unknown origin

As I have said my title wasn’t a good choice but the content of the suggestions will improve the readability of the forums. I should have called it don’t feed the trolls and don’t reply to people who feed the trolls instead. Just go read the Ukraine thread. Pointman posts that he is alive after being offline for 3 months, Yoho posts a bag of crap, people reply and you have a weird juxtaposition of people being relieved a poster is alive and people telling other people to ignore Yoho.

Dion, we have plenty of people here that hold unpopular views, including myself. But there are no threads like this about anyone else. That's not a coincidence. I'm guessing the people that think yoho's schtick isn't a big deal, are just people that don't frequent the same threads that he does
