I'm a strong advocate for the 3 point system since it rewards winning in regulation, and you don't have an magical point appear in OT, but it doesn't align with the NHLs intention of making the standings race look tighter.

3 on 3 and SO wins are as big of "frauds" as loser points

It's fabricated parity.

Just move to a win loss system. If you had ties it's different but you have a system that declares a winner so have the standings reflect that way.

Agree! And soccer was changed by going to a 3-1-0 points.

I’m with you and wish that they would go to your suggestion.

Nah. 3v3 and SO would be too harsh to have a team lose a SO and get nothing for it.

They need to Go to the 3-2-1 point system. I actually think a 3-2-1 point system would be most exciting. Most incentive to go all out for a win, especially in those division and conference games.

The are suggestions that should be considered by the league. For me, I have no problem with tie results. The league operated that way for decades. But, fine, the league insists on W/L results. Then, I would suggest that there should NOT be 3 point contests and 2 point contests, and so, would like to see ALL contests be 3 points awarded. You can't get a regulation result? Fine, one point to each team, and the OT winner gets one more...but...regulation wins get 3 points. Net result, consistency in game value, and, teams that play to win get a reward...Moreover, incentive to not just take the air out of close games.

Or just scrap the SO and go to OT until you have a winner. 4 on 4 for 10 minutes and 3 on 3 for the rest.

Yep I feel the same way but could you imagine how many more powerplays the Oilers would get a game? Disgusting.

Happy for Duehr. Hilarious he's the one to step up and finish. But somehow there's no belief that Phillips, Pelletier et al can't translate their AHL production into NHL results.
