Just wanted to also add how nauseating the broadcast was … listening to Cole and Debrusk (spl?) fawn over Edmonton was painful … they sounded like they were pumping up someone who was very pathetic and needy …

Please no to Lazar one of the most useless players the Flames have acquired in the last 10 years. Think he held the NHL record last year for most goalless games to start the season 39+ games. Please god no Please Gomez no.......

Too bad Bennett didn't deflect that pass that McDavid scored on. I wish he would get some puck luck.
On the positive side I thought the team played very well against the trap and we're only a disallowed goal away from tying the game.
Really thought Jankowski did an awesome job neutralizing McDavid in the second and third when he had the majority of the matchup's.

I went to bed after the 1st, but I think a lot of us were expecting a tired and lackluster effort tonight especially missing 2 key pieces in Gio and Baklund.
When I woke up to see 1-0 I was very happy I just went to bed early, good to see Riddich play great, otherwise meh, beating Nashville was the game I cared about most, and if the Oil can barely beat the flames 1-0 with how bad we played then that is sad for them.
Onwards and upwards.

What a boring game to see at rogers place. Flames looked so bad, so did the greasers for that matter.
For the record... rogers place is meh.....better than the dome......but its new.

I do not ever want to be disrespectful, but part of having a HoF career is to know when to hang them. And that applies for everyone, not hockey players only. He will be remembered as the all time great, but some of the younger fans may remember him only by his recent work and that would be just sad.

Ugh, I hate seeing us lose to the Coilers, but we had a lot stacked against us and we held them to 1, so...kinda win. Get'em next time, guys!

If Backs is going to be out for awhile I'd like to see Lindholm centre the 2nd line with Chucky. We need at least 2 dangerous lines.

I would like to see Lindholm with Bennett and Neal and move Chucky up

Tkachuk maybe had his worst game of the season last night. So many blind passes. Seriously that behind the back pass to nobody in front of the net that he keeps trying has to be shelved. Maybe Kassain was in his head and he expected antics that never developed but not a great game for him.

Ugly game and boring to watch. I know Hitchcock hockey is boring...but god damn. That style is literally the only chance the Oilers have. It's working for them so credit to them. But man does it suck to watch.
No where even close to the intensity of the last BoA. The team clearly missed Gio. The good news is the suspension was on b2b games, so it went by pretty quick.
The team looked tired and worn down. But they have won 5/6, so can't really complain.
Whatever the hell that post ping sound all game was, SN needs to smarten up. Thought someone was hitting the post every shift. Unless it was Rittich wacking the post close to a mic.
Overall boring game.

close. it's a crazy thing the oiler goalie does.
as for Hitchcock trap hockey, oiler fans are ok with it for now as a result of low expectations.
usually by this time of year the oilers are usually 5 game below .500, so it's a nice change to actually still be in a playoff conversation.

I kept falling asleep in the intermissions and waking up for the last 10-5 mins of the 2nd and 3rd, what I saw didn't really inspire me to stay engaged. Looked like a lot of sloppy play and they seemed a step behind. Saw some notable plays, a few good hits some guys obviously trying but not quit jelling, a few totally invisible lines out there, but most glaring issue I saw last night was Defense... wow it looked bad by just about everyone but Brodie, they really missed Gio last night, and that was probably Raz's worst game from him in a long time.
Overall I knew this was a likely outcome so not to annoyed as a result, just burn the tape and move on and get back into their previous mojo.
Unlike the night before I don't think the officiating was very good, it wasn't as bad as I've seen but there was a ton of missed calls and some questionable ones against.
Tough to win those when everything seems to be going against including the schedule, so the fact that they kept it close and had a chance throughout speaks volume.
PS - a single loss on a back to back after losing key people and we are back to lynch mode for some people!? LOL! Never change folks, comic gold.

2 out of 4 points without Gio and Backlund and playing back to back nights? I'll take it.
