This. And Iggy had to Waive his NMC with his family in the west on his mind. There just wasn't any team interested I funny think

Why do you think we only need to go a game or two above .500?

We lose 3 more than LA and they're in our spot.

Something about being a year older than a player that is now considered over the hill is... depressing.

Thank god for Jagr continuing to make me feel young!

Even Wideman would've been a better offer. (For both us, and the Avs)

Lets say the Flames go

10-8

92 points...you honestly think they will miss the playoffs with 92 points? VERY UNLIKELY

I wouldn't be too surprised if they do make playoffs again this year.
I agree it sends a strong supportive message to the team, I just don't agree that it's the right thing to do.

There's still a lot of views out there on LA's position in the league as a "contender" which are outdated (in my opinion) and rooted from memories of how they used to dominate. This is a team that has looked slower than most other teams for 3/4 of a season now that is unable to generate offence at a consistent basis. They're still one of the bigger and more physical teams in the league but they're now also one of the below average teams in the league.

This is a team that needs to move forward and adapt but as seen today and last week, has decided not to.

What makes you think that is remotely likely to happen? The Flames have one of the best records in the entire league over the last 3/4 of the season.

I'm quite confident it won't but I think we'll need to be better than a couple games over .500?

If Iggy wanted more options he should've found a way to put some goals in this season and prove his worth.

Luckily the history with Darryl got him a ticket out of that mess in Colorado.

2 games over 0.500 gives us 92 points. Just to tie, LA would then have to go 12-5-2

not to mention the other teams in the race LA would be beating with that record

St Louis would need to go 12-7-1 to reach 92 in their final games

I honestly think that would do it. The Flames will probably do a lot better than that, which means they are a good bet to finish in the #1 Wildcard or in the Division.

How so just curious?

CGY has 72pts 18GR - so a 10-8 record puts them at 92

LA has 66pts 19GR - So 13-5-1 record to get to 93

Not a virtual guarantee?

There are plenty of scenerios where we can miss out especially considering three four point games.

Ok, I'm not familiar with the math they use; I just want to understand.

LA isn't the only team in the race

LA
Edmonton
St. Louis
Nashville
Anaheim

All within a few points, they aren't all gonna have great records...and the teams that do will be taking points from others

92 points (likely less) gets it done

LA also has 3 wins in their last 10 games
