He only leads passing because he has over 120 more attempts than the next closest guy and has stayed healthy compared to the other starters. (6th in YPG)

he's also the 17th in the league in QBR, 16th in completion percentage, most interceptions, far from first (only 4th, 13 less TDS than first) in TDs despite leading the league in passing

remember this is a 9 team league

I don't think it's entirely fair to put this season on Maier. He's not been good enough but the Stamps are 4-9 because they are simply not a good football team coaching down. It's clear Dickenson has struggled with juggling the GM and HC duties as this is the worst coached Stamps team since Dunnigan. Mobile QB's have run all over the defense all year long, special teams while better of late were ghastly in the first half of the season, and the offense has oscillated between good and bad from quarter to quarter all season. There's a multitude of issues with this team and even with better quarterbacking they are at best likely battling a mediocre Riders team for 3rd place. Instead they are likely going to miss the playoffs and the only question now is if they finish ahead of the Elks or dead last in the West. Maybe this was needed for a reset as things have been getting stale for the past few seasons and to me it seems they need a shakeup in the coaching staff at the very least and a 1B QB to challenge Maier for the starting job.

Since the 90's the Stamps have had four or so bad seasons? This team was eventually going towards a downward trend. Huff and Dave will have the team back to their winning ways in the next year or so.

Someone was pumping Ford's tires a bunch this was my first game watching him.

He sucks. He is a gadget player.

Stamps simply are not good enough. Hopefully some changes come to the staff.

Maier is prone to making bad decisions and is very inconsistent. Then add in that this is the worst Stamps o-line in a very long time and you end up with an average to below average offense.

That loss last night might have ended any chances they had at making the playoffs.

The CFL and especially Edmonton fans want to pretend he is some young exciting QB that will be the next superstar in the League because the CFL is totally lacking that. What he is is a RB playing QB that needed to awful PI calls to beat a very mediocre, and that might be kind, Stamps team.

He is better than anything the Elks have, he is "exciting" enough that Elks fans seems to be willing to ignore their terrible team so I understand why the Elks will stick with him and keeping overhyping him, but he is not a good QB, he doesn't just need more time and he will never succeed more than a few wow games/plays in the CFL.

If memory serves me correctly, 8-10 teams won Grey Cups in back to back years: pretty sure BC was 8-10 in 2000 when they won it the year before 8-10 Calgary did. Meanwhile how many 15-3 Stamps teams didn't win titles the previous 3 decades...this league is wild haha.

That's why I'll always love that 2001, 8-10 Cup year: I always saw it as getting a ring back for all those years they should've won it.

He's still really raw as a passer. Defenses that can contain him and make him throw from the pocket will render him pretty useless. Stamps have a major issue on defense in that they have a hell of a time containing mobile passers and it's a real problem for a few years now that they have simply not adressed.

I’m an Elks’ fan and thought that was a little much, but the team has had a really tough three years and mounted a huge comeback for a last-play win over their biggest rival. I loved the royal wave from the Brit kicker.
