No no... new cars. My 01 Legacy is still a good ol mechanical cable
But now there's talk (and I believe at least one manufacturer) has made their computer disable the throttle when the brake is applied. In this case, you could apply the brake, but the gas won't do anything if you press it at the same time. No doubt this is a "safety" feature, most likely after the Toyota fiasco. Most people won't be affected by it, but some will. Hopefully it isn't adopted.
