He listened to the players about getting rid of Hartley and about keeping Ward. Not saying they decided, but they were consulted.

Fair. I don't know if it was a bad thing to consider what they say, but I have doubts that he's giving the impression that the players have the power. He must've seen bad signs behind the scenes to do it. As for keeping Ward, it was probably at the back of his mind anyway. I don't think open communication is a bad thing, I just don't think he would do it in giving choice. I think he simply made bad decisions.
