I have no idea why I find this random trivial piece of information so awesome, but I am very amused. I'll be really old and losing my mind dying of Alzheimer's raving about magic hot dogs from Detroit.

Speaking of Detroit. The two best Chili dog restraunts in the state reside there. Both are located next to one another. They were two brothers that fought over the chili recipe so each brother opened a store next door to each other to see who was better. They originally opened 100 years ago and remain extremely busy.

Mikael Backlund is pretty good at hockey.

Can't wait for him to start playing in KHL so I can watch him more regularly.

How is it 2:00 in the flippin' morning and all I can think of his hot dogs and pizza? Is it 2004 again? Am I back in college? If there are any exams on Monday I'm completely screwed...

Some canucks fans:

Pisses me off that the Flames can just pick him in the 4th round and he might win the Calder this year.

Why the **** do we never get this?

If he was taller and bigger, he could be a guy who would put up 60 goals and 120+ Points imo.

His vision is elite, same with his playmaking.

Flames have four D with more points than our highest scoring defender.

I haven't seen a rookie look as competent or be able to generate offense single-handedly like Gaudreau since Ovechkin. That [haters gon hate] is dangerous every shift.
Quote:
What frustrates me the most is that in this team I don't see a future.

Tarasenko and Foresberg aside. Monahan and Gaudreau pf Calgary, Nyquist and Tatar of Detroit...

Like, what should I be expecting of the young talents of our team?

Tonight was insane the way the puck was just fluttering around bouncing like a tennis ball. Makes it tough going up against a stifling defensive team like the Flames when the puck is erratically ping ponging around the ice like that, tough to make crisp plays to really break things down.

Gaudreau - Backlund - Hudler should be a thing..why is it not a thing?

God bless Ortio..
I wish we trampled them but a shutout most definitely sweet. Now that we have shaken off the Vancouver monkey, how about Anaheim?

It was late in the game on Friday.

I think Hartley was trying to get Monahan going offensively, first by putting him with Hudler and Gaudreau on Friday, then with Hudler and Glencross on Saturday.

To really get him going, it might be time to bring back the Sven and Sean show from the start of last season. I believe Sven is still one of the most-productive linemates Monahan has had in a season and a half and he's back in the groove in Adirondack right now.

Well after Shore, I think Sven should be the next call up if he keeps it up. But I'd still give him some more time. I want to see him being productive for a good, long stretch of games.

Randorf was a sportscaster in Vancouver for sometime Im pretty sure he is a Canucks fans

I would almost like to see Byron waived and sent to Adirondack along with Granlund and have the whole line of Shore, Sven, and Poirier recalled just to reward them for their elite play down there of late.

The Flames middle lines could use some shaking up.

I was in Detoit last month. For the sake of science I tried both back to back (and almost missed my flight because of). Without a doubt Lafayette is better than All American.

If he can score a goal per game for the rest of the season and stay healthy I think even you would become a Backlund fanboy.

Shore and elite? Sven is miles ahead of him in terms of skill and speed.
Kyle Greentree and Kris Chucko is Mr Shores ceiling

Edit; calgarypuck is up in arms with Byron and his lack of finish, Shore has zero finish and
Zero speed. At least Byron can provide pressure on the Pk

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but Ortio is NHL.com's first star of the night.
