Wow. Vermaelen and Dembele dont even start and they hand Kompany a game during the knockout rounds?

Madness right there.

3 Senegal refs in the next game after the Japanese knocked out Senegal due to FairPlay? Surely FIFA could’ve found another set of officials for optics alone. They wouldn’t have been doing this game if it was Senegal getting through. Baffling.

You don't know what, if anything was said between VAR and the ref. FACT. Despite your earlier claim that they were talking and your latest that VAR dismissed it as not worthy.

Clattenburg is saying that if the ref had initiated VAR there is a high likelihood that the evidence would have resulted in a straight red for a deliberate stamp.

This is where I am confused? Does VAR talk to the ref first or does the ref have to do the tv signal first?

Yeah....that was unwise. What does Putin have against Japan? Have there been trade negotiations that arent going well?

You'd think he'd have preferred to stack the deck against Belgium if anything.

The Japanese ball control skill is really good.

It is, but this is an absolute siege. I like Japan and they're exploiting that idiot Martinez's tactics already by getting around his wingbacks and attacking from the wings but I just dont think they have the horses to get around Belgium.

Wow....Japan with a great chance there, two errors and almost a goal. Thats Belgiums Achilles heel, its those wide wings with their wingbacks all the way up the pitch.

Look, I know hes the star player of your team, and he is an amazing player, but that doesnt mean that you have to pretend he poops Gold.

I admire the pluckiness of Japan and would normally cheer for the dog, but they would not have a prayer against Brazil.

Belgium need to go to a back four and let De Bruyne play more up the pitch. Seems so easy, yet Martinez...

The problem is that Witsel provides no back support so you can see that KDB is doing it which means he isnt providing as much offensive assistance.

Ditch this back 3/5 nonsense go to a back 4, eliminate the danger from the wings and get Witsel off and bring on Dembele, he can do the heavy lifting and allow KDB to provide service to Lukaku/Hazard/Mertens.

Lol Cantona knows nothing about performing in a World Cup.

I’m glad you think he’s a good player tho, not like he’s been top 3 for years now. I don’t care what Cantona says, Neymar had more international goals by the age of 21 than Cantona has had his whole career. Lots of pundits who have never done anything on this stage have a lot to say.

That would be so good if Belgium actually put it together... but that never happens.

See what I mean? They went right around the CBs, the wingbacks were nowhere to be found and now here we are.
