The biggest bright spot this season for me has been just how good the depth has been.

Bouma-Backlund-Frolik
Ferland-Stajan-Chiasson

have been killing it so far. they looked good on paper to start the season and they're certainly looking as good as or better than anyone expected.

Once Gio wakes up and the PP gets fixed this team will be making a strong bid for the playoffs. The Pacific is going to be wide open this year, lots of room for the Flames.

Wideman being invisible was an improvement tonight!

This.

It wasn't there in periods 1 and 2 but the third and OT were the probably the first I've seen this season of the team I know.

Calgary Flames
@NHLFlames This goal was Mony's sixth OT tally, which ties him with Iggy for the most in #Flames history!

Huge win!!! Don't care about the missed call. Flames needed that in the worst way. Won't be surprised if the flood gates open against Carolina and flames score 6 or 7.

Those likely go the other way if Hrudey doesn't call out the reffing bias post-Wideman incident on HNIC this past Saturday.

Did some digging and found this Darren Haynes piece. In addition to his OT goals, he's got a knack for the shootout too

This article was written Jan of 2015, so I'm not sure how many more SO winners he has. The man is clutch though.

Great game tonight. Ferland really brought it the whole night. He should be commended. What a competitor and hard willed smart player. With a little more finish he will be outstanding.

Johnny had a few plays. Goaltending was solid.

Really impressed with the Sabres and their rebuild. They played a very strong game and had some outstanding plays to net goals.

The ref's were a little off their game as usual.
