Why did he say they were targeted and then go back and say he never said they were targeted?

Twitter sources: Suspect worked at a grocery store, brought a weapon to the party but ended up using a large knife he found in the home.

If police are seeking a first degree murder charge it is likely the believe it to be premeditated.

Seeking them out to me implies were targeted. I imagine something will come out eventually once friends of the people involved are questioned.

Police Chief Rick Hansen is calling this the worst mass murder in Calgary's history.

Twitter sources: All victims were taken off-guard by the attack, none were sleeping.
Sounds like he went in there and started attacking; no self-defense act or any fight started it.

come on now it matters, not saying it is a big piece of the story but it is part of it. His father works in "Law Enforcement" and he broke the most severe law their is.
If the crime was stealing week old hot dogs and slurpee's his dad working at 7-11 would be relevant

I just think the ability to execute something like that is crazy. One or two people? Ok. Three? maybe. 5 people? I've been at house parties where #### gets crazy and usually it's like the roof is caving in the way people pile outta there. How did he kill 5 people?

I presume this takes the whole BSD spin out of the equation is the suspect went from work to a house party.

Then it's an outlier by definition.

The closest is probably the mentally insane guy who killed his wife, 2 kids and his renter who lived downstairs. and then he killed himself. He was already getting help for hearing voices when it happened.

I'm sure there was a driveby shooting around 10 years ago that had 3 or 4 deaths, but I can't remember anything this deliberate in my lifetime.

I've worked in the media and I feel that it is part of the story when the father is a police officer.

Yeah they mentioned on twitter this morning that this is the largest mass murder in Calgary history.
Such a tragedy and I still can't fathom how it happens and why such a thing would occur.

Ok. I just feel it isn't fair and insensitive to report that.
The guys kid just murdered 5 people, I'm sure he is having a hard enough time dealing with that and now he is going to have to deal with people like The Ditch. His father is guilty of nothing, so why should he not be entitled to his privacy?
